Ha ha! Nine games is enough. Sony will throw US consumers a bone and release more after everyone has beat the nine initial releases.

Yes, you guessed it. I am back to report a Difficulty Level and also use the occasion to discuss the game at hand. I've installed Gears of War 3 on my 360 and the difficulty is locked to Hardcore. Having played through Gears of War, Gears of War 2 and act 1 of Gears of War 3, I can safely say that the third installment is the most fun and the most refined. The color palette has been diversified and it helps the game. While it retains the basic brown, grey apocalyptic tone it borrows a palette of green, orange and yellow from Bulletstorm and it succeeds at it. I feel at home with Hardcore, it just feels right as with the previous two. Let's not waste too many words about a story that the franchise has never been known for to begin with. This is still very much ten or so hours of space marines shooting aliens in the face, let's not forget that.

Unlike with the previous two titles in the series I intend to get a bit more involved with the multiplayer this time around. Well this is it from me. Leave your interesting comments below.

Video game writers should have organized themselves in a association a long time ago. The association should organize a yearly or bi-yearly conference where people can meet, exchange ideas and take decisions that shape the future of that guild. You are useless to the world serving as henchmen of the corporates.

Seeing as I find myself guessing what difficulty setting best fits my style and skill before I start a new game, I've decided to blog about it on a regular basis. I'm counting on you guys to share your experience with each title.

So, yeah, Rage. Let me give you a bit of background information. I have played many first person shooters and have been playing id Software games since the original PC release of Wolfenstein 3D in 1992. As such, Rage for me, is best experienced on Hard as this mode provides a real challenge while keeping things enjoyable (as opposed to punishingly difficult).

As always, feel free to share your experience with the game.

Cheers,

Laurent

@IkariNoTekken: Thanks for sharing your view on this. You helped me in my decision, I will play New Vegas on PC. I hope they have patched most of the shortcomings which plagued players at launch.

Thanks for you input guys. Rock-on!

Cheers

Yes, that's exactly how I feel about the Batman Arkham games. I like the first so much more because it was such a memorable experience the first time around. Arkham City is a great game but I like Arkham Asylum better. Giantbomb staffers where talking about it on a bombcast and I think they found New Vegas annoying because so much time was spent in the desert instead of Vegas, the Strip and all that. I don't know. I feel like Fallout 3 might be best for me, too bad the shooting is not as good as in New Vegas.

Cheers

Greetings people of Earth,

I'd like to spend some time with a Fallout game and I want to know from you guys which is the better video game, Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas. I like games that blend shooting mechanics with RPG elements. I had a great time with Borderlands and I love the Mass Effect franchise (I cannot wait for ME3). Whereas both, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas share similar aesthetics, I want to know which is the tighter, essential Fallout experience?

I think it boils down to this, which do I have to play to get the most out of Fallout?? ( Remember, I can only play one of them)

I hope you guys can help me out here. Those of you who played and finished both, should know best!

Cheers,

Laurent
