There are many parts of America where people are laid back. IE: Hipsters, most college towns.

Come live in Austin and get both in one!

well when i go to college I guess I'll get a better picture of what it's like

I don't, but I would rather live here than anywhere in the balkans.

and you're basing that off of what, what would you know?

Nationalism and racism is rife and alive in balkans. Serbs are really scary in their ultranationalism (probably cause they got their ass kicked) but other parts of the balkans are equally bad. No good to live where people dont like other people.

Just time out god damn this stupid Serbs are violent nationalist people bullshit is so fucking annoying! Having to put up with it all the time. First off I have bosnia and croatian in my family so I can give a definitive answer. All countries are equal to blame for the 90's. It's so incredibly annoying how the West makes it seem like WW3 happened in the balkans. I know bosnians, croatians, serbs, and you know how many people i know that have died or knew someone that died in the war zero did you hear that zero. The war wasn't even that bad there were just tons of refugees. God damn I hate the stupid fucking western media making up all these bullshit lies it's ridiculous.

I've been giving a lot to think about I suppose it's what part of the u.s. you live in maybe where i am at now doesn't suit me. Although I have lived in other places in the US and i liked them a lot more.

@crusader8463: yeah it's not really the country that I have a problem with it it's a lot of the people. I don't what it is. Speaking of Canada I was there for about two weeks and it was amazing it was a night and day difference in social interactions.

Does question has been on my mind so much lately. My parents moved to america from an ex yugoslav republic(not saying which one) when I was 3. I have always been surrounded by people from ex yugoslav even here in the united states, and from all the stories that I've heard life just seems so much more fun over there and in Europe in general. I just find life so boring, vain, and unsatisfying. It seems that people don't know how to enjoy there lives as much they just buy, buy, buy, spend, spend, spend and think that will make them happy. I can't blame americans that's the way they have been raised and brain washed by the media. I have seriously been considering moving to europe when I get older more specifically southern europe where everybody is more laid back. Am I wrong though, I'm curious to hear people's opinions.

" @LuffyUzumaki:   The correct answer is raising your kids as Americans if you're going to live in America...how is that even a question?  My mom's Mexican and moved to this country when she was 20 out of Guadalajara. I'm American. I for sure have a lot of respect for the culture, (especially the food) and I actually try and go back every summer to the motherland and keep in touch with family that is still over there. Hell when I lived with my mom ever since I was born she speaks spanish at the house. But yo I'm an American.   What exactly makes you so sure that your kids are going to be serbs anyway? Are you going to go out of your way to make sure you get a serb partner?  Do you guys even go back and keep in touch with everything back there? "
See in Europe especially the Balkans where you're from matters as much as the shit you took this morning. It's all about who you are. My family has probably lived in Croatia for maybe 200 years each time marrying a Serb and spreading the Serbian religion Christian Orthodox and Serbian culture. See people from other parts of the world can't grasp that.
