" @Lukeweizer said:Hahahahahaaha." @Insectecutor said:Even if you cover it with your hand, it shouldn't drop more then one maybe 2 bars. You have to grip it in a very specific way to lose signal completley. It's called the death grip. "" The antenna isn't broken. Their design invited people to learn tough lessons about RF. I'm not a member of the Church of Jobs, but I do understand RF and they're not bullshitting when they say that if you wrap skin and bone around an aerial it will impede the signal just as if you use your phone in an elevator you will lose the signal. Phones used to have a whip antenna sticking out of them because of this exact problem. As coverage, the software radios in the phones, and antenna technology improved the problem became less of an issue and the antennas could be integrated into the body of the phone. People wouldn't have noticed the dip if they hadn't pointed out where the antenna is and boasted about how great it is. There are a lot of haters out there. "So you're saying, don't cover it with your hand? Where was it in iPhone 3? I never saw anything sticking out of them. It wasn't an issue then? Why are people freaking out now? "
Luckily, I'm not a Vulcan. Thanks for the tip.
