It's my birthday so I generally use the day as my only alone day. I used to take a vacation day every year before I retired and just sit at home by myself. Ah the good old days... My wife wants to do breakfast though so I think that's what I'm doing. I don't think I've ever done a traditional Valentine's day so, aside from what they show in movies, I'm not sure what people actually do.

Before the quicklook I really wanted this based on what I'd heard, but something there just didn't grab my attention. If it were on PC I'd probably get it anyway, but as it is maybe I'll wait until I get a ps4 pro. If I get one. Maybe I'll see or hear something more about this that makes me want it. I played and beat all of the souls games, bloodborne was my favorite. I didn't like lords of the fallen much though either so maybe I just like those games.

I have a plan for three lines, 15gb data with rollover data, unlimited calling and texting for 160$ a month. I also have BMW discount of 20%. And both of my vita 3gs are on the plan. All the phones were purchased from the manufacturer so there are no additional costs there that I've paid.

I don't know why John carmack looking up how to wipe a hard drive seems so astonishing. Not too many people actually work with disks at a low level. He's a great programmer but he's not a god.

@rethla: That just points to it more likely having a path to a copper area on/in the PCB which I mentioned.

If you've ever looked at a cars engine bay you'll often notice there are heatshield ON the firewall. Despite that they actually do help keep the interior of the vehicle cooler than without them. Same with heat shields around exhausts or turbos. Exhausts and turbos(the hot side) you actually WANT to keep warm. I can't think of many places that holds true in electronics but FYI. You think they're stupid until you don't have them. It does seem like something that could be used to protect a component from the heat of another component that MIGHT go into a PCI-E slot also, wonder what...

The other thing to note is the screw down. If that goes into the motherboard, as it might, that could very well aide in heat dissipation assuming you have airflow in your case. PCB's are professionally always made with heat in mind. So when you have a component that is known to heat up you provide it a way to get to the PCB where there is a significant copper area and that helps dissipate the heat. If you've ever tried desoldering anything from a motherboard, or any other well made piece of electronics you'll know you have to get a lot more heat into the component and board than it would take if you were actually just melting solder. Unfortunately that's never the case, ever, and you have to put extra heat into it. I don't have a schematic or board diagram to confirm that's what they're doing, and I'm certainly not going to buy one, but just because some guy has an infrared camera and tells you it's bad doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about. I don't recall him even showing any actual testing, he could wrap the thing in a blanket in one case and have it in a refrigerator with a large blower for another. It's totally possible it's another useless feature but I wouldn't outright assume they decided to spend money giving you something that's trash. Aside from the manuals, stickers, boxes, cd's, and all of that stuff.

I'm not sure they're delusional, they're just believing what they've been told. A large part of the left media has been calling it a muslim ban, the right media has a lot of content ASKING if it's a muslim ban, usually saying no and here's why. So it's really a media problem, not mental health... Unlike some other hot button topics where it is both or primarily mental health. I think it's safe to say that most people looking at politics at this time are very partisan even when they don't know it, or being swayed by very partisan news without knowing it.

I think I have higher hopes for the Xbox upgrade since it will have a 4.5x faster gpu as opposed to ps4 pros ~2x faster GPU. It could also end up having more memory(12GB). I'm mainly disappointed in the PS4 pro running everything the same as normal ps4 without actual work being done. Means most of the library has no changes to performance which is literally the point of the PS4 pro. If the Xbox ends up being the same way It's pretty unlikely I'll get one unless my Xbox breaks.

@d-man123: Wasn't even the glory of PC gaming it was that I got used to 60FPS and it was almost impossible to play after that. I played more by myself, on pc, than I did with him on xbone. Other things like bloodborne are perfectly fine at 30FPS. I'd love to be ABLE to play at 60FPS but it didn't affect my ability to play it at all. Same with things like Dark souls 2. I played first on PS3, then PC. It doesn't bother me either way but then slower games shouldn't be much different at 30 vs 60 in terms of gameplay.

@nnickers: This is something I had with the newest gears. Playing horde with a friend we started on xbox because xbox-pc was having huge issues. It went well and we had fun. The next time I was able to play on pc, but then a few times after that were console before I went pc 100% of the time. After playing on pc, 6 hour session, and going back to xbox I couldn't shoot ANYTHING. I was playing the sniper and I felt like an idiot. Eventually I figured out it was the framerate. I can deal with resolution changes just fine, but playing the same game going from 60-30 was too much and ruined my timing on everything.

It was sort of a running joke because I play very well on PC. I kept telling my friend, "I don't know man, when I play by myself I'm awesome." Of course he'd just laugh at me because of course I'd say that. Once we were able to play with me on pc and him on xone we were able to do any difficulty, about 50% of maps by ourselves with no problems. It may be a poor metric but on pc I was #1 score any time after first 5 rounds, on xbox I was lucky if I didn't get supervisor first 10 rounds and was almost always the guy with the lowest score. As sniper, as engineer sitting on a turret it barely matters.

That was my worst issue where framerate was my only issue and all I could say was it felt bad to play on xbox one but it was great on PC.
