Well, I can only speak for myself but I find that accomplishing something or "winning" doesn't feel nearly as satisfactory if there's no challenge leading up to it. A struggle, if you will. There are exceptions, of course, but nothing can beat the satisfaction you get from beating a really hard-ass game.
