@gatehouse: Tough one. Kimi's championship win was one of the most unexpected (Lewis bottled it basically) and people forget that he was quite competitive in last years Lotus. The issue is that as much as we as racing fans want to see two equal level drivers jostling for the title in the same car it rarely works well, in fact Lewis and Nico have done remarkably well keeping it relatively civil - see Ralf Schumacher and Montoya for the polar opposite.
It is my opinion that one driver should be designated the main driver ie the one that will go for the title and the other one should be a youngster - getting experience and eventually superseding his team-mate in 4/5 years time. This saves on offering another driver from another team a huge sum of money to move - as seems to be the case with Seb. However, for that to work Seb actually has to be challenging for the title and considering the cars Ferrari have been producing recently that is not a foregone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination. My worry is that in 2 years time, Seb might be fed up (he has much less patience/maturity than Alonso) and Kimi will be gone as well. So Ferrari will again have to fill two slots - like they had to do post Michael/Rubens.
To (finally) answer your question, I'd like to see (in the ideal world where Seb looks like challenging for the title) a youngster to be groomed for the top position. Failing that, Ricciardo? (Btw, neither of these things will actually happen. Mattiacci is a glorified car salesman that knows nothing and will drive this team into the ground, sadly)
