Twilight Princess is certainly the worst, it's a lifeless shell of a Zelda game that doesn't even compare to the other four. It's full of plot holes and logical failures. How does Zelda come back after she disappears, anyway? Oh that's right it never tells us. You would think something like that might be kind of important considering we all thought she was dead. There are about two good characters in the entire game, Midna and Colin, while the rest are utterly forgettable. Link hardly feels like a hero, more like a dimwitted pet for Midna to boss around. He had one cool scene where he was riding off to save Colin. And the obvious fan-service in this game is ridiculous. Link turns into a wolf because wolves are cool. Shirtless Link because Nintendo has figured out that a significant portion of their Zelda fans are girls who are in love with Link. Midna turns into a hot chick because hot chicks are cool. And while we're at it, let's stick Ganondorf in here, and let's give him the Triforce of Power and say it was a "divine prank" because we can't be arsed to think of anything better. But let's not give him any motivation, just like everyone else in this game. The animations and expressions are also terrible, everyone says the graphics are amazing but I can't figure out how this even got an OK to be sold under the Nintendo name. I guess they were just running out of time. It's really obvious that they only made this game because fans were whining so much about Wind Waker's style and Majora's Mask's lack of traditional storyline, and I hope they never decide to try to "please" the fans again.
Ocarina of Time, although simpler in many ways, has much more life than Twilight Princess. The characters are still some of the most iconic of the series and Link as a person develops from a weak little boy to a hero. He earns his Triforce of Courage instead of being born with it, as he does in every other game (beside TP) where he possesses it. Majora's Mask is extremely vivid and emotional, and manages to have a large cast and yet make most of them significant enough that you care what happens to them. It introduced Link's sidekick as a character rather than just a guide (sorry Navi, you are not a character). Wind Waker is a master piece, and so is Skyward Sword. Each of these games builds off it's predecessors without confining itself to the past. Twilight Princess only fails to be Ocarina of Time.
But Twilight Princess isn't a bad game as far as games go. It's not even the worse of the Zelda games. It's just the worse of the 3D Zeldas. The good game in a class of exceptional games.
I played TP on my gamecube, so please note that when I write this.
I liked one aspect of TP more than anything on other zelda games, and that was the fighting on horseback. That really blew me away!
