PC Collection

Despite being a prime example of EQ addict for the better part of four years, I've never really been that big on PC gaming. The first computer my mom bought (other than the TI-99/4A we had) was an Intel 486 with a whopping 25 MHz processor, Windows 3.1, and the must-have Word Perfect 5.1. Aside from some shareware games and Myst, I always stuck with my consoles when it came to gaming.

In 1999, when I left home to move to Valdosta for college, I bought a computer that would log hundreds of DAYS worth of EverQuest play time.

After a car accident in late 2003, I used the settlement money to buy a new 3.2 GHz Dell XPS in preparation for several games coming out in 2004 (EverQuest II, Unreal 2004, Far Cry, Half-Life 2).

In 2009, again not having really played PC games for a while, decided to get a laptop. It can't run high-end gaming stuff, but it'll play Torchlight and alot of indie or classic games off of Steam. And it makes working on Giant Bomb a hell of a lot easier since I'm not tied to a desk anymore.

@pikeplacer: Because it's AWESOME!

Seriously though, they were giving out copies of it at Aeria Games' booth at PAX 09. I avoided taking one for two days but on the last day I gave in.
