  • I know the SFIV theme word for word also...... ...I am possibly the idiot that maybe sang it in a MW2 lobby.... It also may have been frowned upon by some.

I think theyre just fine, I had some difficulty with a few of them solo on regular (the five waves with the helicopters and predator drone) I'd like to play more though... some are stupid easy even on veteran though... I wish my friend would stop ranking up in multiplatyer and come help me out with them.

  • if you want platforming and more adventurey games go for the PS3 I buy all my multiplatform releases on my 360 because of points and how much easier it is to play with my friends online... Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are both amazing games. I hardly buy anything for my PS3 only the exclusive stuff but I guess if you only had one  and you don't really care for shooters  the ...

  • kids love them and theyre  fun even for adults..and have some of the best, arguement inducing co-op in any game. Theyre also incredibly packed full of secrets and collectibles... so no.... TT should continue to make them.

just make dragon age a priority MW2 will be there in a couple of months and I don't think people are going to get any better than they already are (absolutely amazing)... I did this with ratchet and clank and it's worked out pretty good so far...although I am lvl 32 or something.

  • My interest in MW2 is not the same as it was with the first game.. it all seems a bit "been there, done that" at the minute. I think i'd rather play spec ops but everyone else seems more interested in the multiplayer booo.

  • you need to play Ratchet and clank a crack in time... he  voices sigmund a slightly scared and emotional robot in that game and you cannot get further from Nathan Drake than that character,it doesnt even sound like the same actor... it makes you realise how talented he really is.   I also totally saw him in an episode of modern family the other day also.

I prefer the AC130... and thats only because I managed to get a chopper gunner when everyone seemed to be hidden inside meaning I got like 2 kills... bleh.... I may change my mind.

My English skills are not good enough to write a full review on the game so I'm just going to condense my thoughts on R&C into simple plusses and minuses.
Some thing You should know though...

A. I am a huge, huge, huge Ratchet and Clank fan and bought  a PS3 for tools of destruction.
B. Up your arsenal was the best game in the series until now.
C. I believe Tools to be the weakest of the Insomniac made games by a mile.
D. The graphics in this game... and the last game and the game before that are NOT fucking "Pixar standard"

+ The game looks stunning, absolutely beautiful
+ the first ever orchestral score in a R&C game is really rather good
+ the story balances the comedy and epic storyline perfectly
+ the platforming and the shooting are the most balanced  they have been since the first game
+ Mr Zurkon is  one of the greatest game creations/weapons ever
+ the braidesque clank levels are perfectly designed and just the right side of challenging
+ the game demands much, much less grinding than any other R&C game.
+ the writing and acting is as top notch as always
+ my blaster runs hot 8 bit robotronlike arcade game
+ the final boss is really cool
+ fun trophies...even funner skill points
+ the radio trailer for "UNICOP"... he's half Cop and half unicorn y'know
+ the weapon advertisements are a whole bunch of ren & stimpyesqe.
+ the game really knows how to constantly stream rewards at you.
+ the game gives many incentives to seek out secrets
+ IT IS THE BEST RATCHET & CLANK GAME EVER MADE!!!!!!!
+... I <3 Clank.

- sometimes the hoverboot jumps are a little wonky.
- the arena isn't as good as it has been in previous games
- not as many story planets as previous games
- gadgets required for  puzzles on previous planets are kept to a minumum which makes explotration  not as exciting.

and on a personal trophy hunterish note...

- finishing challenge mode on normal does not unlock the hard trophy meaning I need to level up all my weapons again bleh.

This Doesn't belong on my gaming blog on Giant Bomb but y'know I neglect my ranty Livejournal way too much to post this there...
anyways Cencoroll, A 26 minute one off anime film/short/thing about a monster and his friend is absolutely, wonderfully brilliant, it's not often that  An anime show gives me that sense of wonder and weirdness I used to get before I got jaded by every single show released....

Definately shades of FLCL in there.

I never thought  I would have come across the kind of behaviour I have in a game like Beatles Rock band but today after deciding I had neglected what is an awesome game for far too long I was met with more dickish behaviour than I would have Liked to or thought possible from such a family friendly game.
Today I played the game for about three hours and in that time I have been kicked numerous times for playing instruments on medium, been called a "fucking retard" because I haven't bought any DLC and repeatedly told that I'm picking the wrong songs when it's my turn to pick (If I play she's so heavy one more time I may explode!)

To be honest I think Harmonix did a really, really lazy job with the online as there doesn't seem to be any way  to get matched with people that wish to play the game casually on medium or easy meaning that you get lumped with a lot of people with elitist attitudes that kick you if youre not going to play it on hard or expert.
It also doesn't help that it doesn't let you set up your own game to make sure that you are the host to prevent yourself from getting kicked all the time... it is seemingly random who gets to be the host from what I have noticed.

I just dont get it, I want to have fun with the game but my skills do not extend to anything other than medium on the guitar and bass (I can do them on hard but it seems like I struggle so much that it loses a lot of it's fun) and easy on the drums and that is not good enough for nearly everyone else  because as soon as I have played one song on medium all of the expert players leave or I get kicked...what happened to just having fun playing videogames?... especially a game like Rock Band.... FUCKING BEATLES ROCK BAND.. a game that should unite all ages and levels of play. It's actually pretty disgusting the more I think about it and I wish it hadn't left such a bad taste in my mouth.

also... in three hours It took so long to get a full band of four that I eventually just switched to the singing...which I can do on a mixture of expert and hard, But thats not really the point. I just wanted to play some awesome songs and relax but instead realized that no matter what game you play  online there is always someone that wants to suck all the fun out of it...

*sigh*

I have been listening to the Score from the game by Greg Edmonson pretty much all evening as well as enjoying it throughout the game and have been really blown away by how  incredibly amazing it is. The first game had probably my favourite musical score since  Shadow of the Colossus. I find it to be  better than 90% of what accompanies hollywood blockbusters these days and has a really unique sound  by using a lot of  instruments from all around the world. Now I know Hans Zimmers Modern Warfare 2 score will probably be an exciting, heartpounding in your face kind of musical score but Uncharted 2's has a real tenderness accompanying the more action orientated sections and it feels incredibly epic in places. There is a track on the OST called Cornered and it is easily my favourite piece from the game. It plays during the section while youre running through the building as a helicopter tries to blow you up . It has a wonderfully lighthearted bit before going into a swelling string section. I'm a sucker for a good musical score but Greg Edmonson has really gone above and beyond my expectations. I never throught a game would have such a complete musical score to accompany it.  Absolutely stunning.

I finished Uncharted 2 in two sittings between yesterday and today and the "aghhhhh" is for good reason.

I am the person that two years ago kept telling everyone "dude, play uncharted...its fuckin awesome". it was my favourite "real" game of 2007 ( EDF 2017!!!!!!!) and blew me away with it's pacing, characters and cinematic ways.  But Uncharted 2 which is undoubtedly  prettier, more exciting, better acted, better paced and generally better composed with a much heavier emphasis on platforming with some sections lasting up to 40 minutes or so first time through. unfortunately this time round I have a bunch more issues....

so to the plusses...and minuses

+ Best looking game I have  played up until now.  (my PC will run Crysis as High quality... it looks better than crysis)
+ story is trashy action movie perfect .
+ acting has  masses of personality and expertly handled .
+ the big set piece moments are "FUCK YEAH!" awesome.
+ the end of the game has a really human touch to it rarely seen in videogames.
+ the stealth stuff is really quite good (I have seen a few complaints about it)
+ the musical score makes me go weak at the knees.
+ the enemies MOSTLY are not bullet sponges
+ the platforming sections are epic as hell.
+ hand to hand fighting is muchly improved.

- ...and when I mean mostly I mean, some bigger enemies take waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too much ammo to kill using conventional weapons.
- the game ramps up its difficulty in a couple of spots that make it more frustrating than fun, there's a lot more insta-kills in this game (on normal mode) and there is nothing I hate more than being killed by some shotgun rusher because I'm hiding from a hail of sniper fire
- enemy spam!, i'm surprised about the amount of people that seem to have overlooked this. ND  removed the bullet sponge enemies but in their place added enemy spamming where possible, there are some gunfights in the game where it is you vs 40 or so enemies in waves, most shooters (like gears) don't even do that.
- while the combat is hugely fun it is not as accurate as I was expecting, I am still missing headshots all over the place not due to bad aiming but because you often have to hit an exact point on the evemies head.
- rocket/grenade spam from enemies... absolutely hate this in any game.
- amazing setpiece moments that end in insta-kills I died about ten times in the falling building section ,about four in the car chase near the beginning and loaaaads at the tank section because the game just decided not to tell me what I need to do or I continuously got killed by a sliding desk.  The problem with the tank section is that it doesn't do a very good job of guiding you throughout the buildings, infact I ran into a few "where the hell am I supposed to go next" moments because I couldnt see a rope on a wall of some tiny ledge. I never ran into any moments like this  during the first game and It always feels like the pace of the game is getting ruined when you have to spend ages looking for  the exit.

I have a bunch of complaints, I know... Don't get me wrong this game is absolutely brilliant, one of the top five best games on the system easily and its positives really do outshine its negatives I just found some of the new decisions to be absolutely strange, especially the enemy spamming because it just seems like a quick fix to the bullet sponges from the first game instead of  just making the enemies cleverer. the game is five stars easy but doesn' even come close to the experience I had with Metal Gear, I felt fully satisfied come the finale. even with a ho-hum final boss battle. I just sat back and  THOUGHT to myself  "this game is absolutely ace"....

When I finished MGS4...I literally punched the air.
