So I threw some new RAM into my comp, well i guess "threw" is a pretty loose term, during the process i somehow disconnected my HDD power cable and didn't realize until my comp was trying to boot off the CD ROM drive (which kind of freaked me out). So then i got to take it all apart again and find the problem, fun times. Anyway I upgraded from 6gb to 12gb 1600mhz, and i was hoping this would help while capturing game footage through fraps, as I was noticing a significant frame rate drop when recording. It wasn't a constant drop but up and down sometimes zeroing out at points. So after installing my new memory sticks I figured I would give Battlefield a go to see if I had straightened out the problem. But to my displeasure, the problem persisted, and I was shrouded in disappointment.
After laying down some heavy fire in a couple matches to help relieve the anger that had overcome my (computer upgrade) excitement, I took to the forums hoping to find a thread that would somewhat relate to my problem, and perhaps provide a helpful solution. I quickly found this thread http://frapsforum.com/threads/fps-drops-to-unplayable-when-recording.822/ and soon after found a solution to my problem or it at least has the potential to be a problem solver. The solution suggests that I purchase a second HDD and reserve that for all of my recorded content. This makes total sense, but I wouldn't mind a second opinion, especially since HDD's are pretty pricey at the moment. So if you have any experience with this, or are over 90% sure that this will work, please share your knowledge.
Looking at the daily deals today (day 3) Magicka definitely interests me, Bad Company 2 Complete, and Bioshock 2 are in my cart. Was hoping Half Life: Source would be in the Half Life franchise sale, wondering if I should just buy the original Half Life minus the source engine, any opinions? Also want to know how I should approach Magicka, should I buy the complete pack with all the dlc, or just the game by itself?
Day 2 I picked up Just Cause 2 with all dlc, Star Wars: KOTOR, and Star Wars: Battlefront 2. I really hope I get around to playing all these, because KOTOR will definitely bring back some good memories.
The first day was a great day, Borderlands GOTY, Bit.Trip Beat and Runner, Lead and Gold, and Back to the Future. So far I think i'm handling this Steam sale fairly well. I've decided to wait until the last day to buy the games that will be on deal for the entire sale, in case they happen to be a daily deal.
Also you've seen what I've bought, Steam name: SwirlinDervish would love to play some coop Borderlands
Have you ever found yourself buying too many games, and not having time to play them all? I've run into this problem and i feel stupid, because i'm wasting money paying full price for these games, which i can now buy for half the cost. Of course I don't pay full price for a game unless i really want it, but once i have it i can't bring myself to play it. I've bought games like Singularity, Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno, Dragon Age, Farcry 2, Army of Two: The 40th Day, God of War 3, Metro 2033, Darksiders, a bunch of Steam games (not all at full price, but some of them), and have barely scratch the surface of any of these games (some i still haven't opened). I'm telling you this because I am afraid that I would rather own a good game than actually play one, but I can easily do both without consequence, so why don't I play these games? I am becoming less of a gamer and more of a collector and it sucks, I want the gamer and collector in me to be 50/50, so i can have my games and play them too. I also find it hard to play games when I'm alone. I need an audience, or a Co-op partner, or someone to play with online. I do have this a lot of the time, but not all the time, and when I don't, like today when I'm sick, and I'm asking buddies to play online, and they're doing other shit, it sucks. And when I eventually do play something, I'm playing old games, not new one's. I guess the answer to my problem is easy...don't buy so many games, and I would probably play more. But I'm not writing this looking for an answer, I want to know who else has this problem if anyone, or any other strange gaming related problems, please comment if you do. Also if your looking for someone to play with, but only if you really want to play, here's my Gamertag: Marsher and PSN Name: SwirlinDervish
Starting off with microsoft, i wasn't at my computer, so i was desperately trying to find a live stream on the Phone of i (iPhone) settled with the kotaku live blog, which was really good they had three guys working on it, so I used that for about 15 minutes then I found out gametrailers was live streaming the press conference to mobile devices, bye bye live blog. I started streaming at the Fable 3 trailer which looked alright, I mean, Fable's fun and it looked like more Fable which if my math is correct should equal more fun. So what is missed was the COD: Black Ops gameplay, MGS: Rising trailer, which looked pretty cool, made me want some watermelon, and Gears 3. Since then I watched all that stuff and all of it impressed me. Kinect looked cool too, especially the Forza 3 stuff, of course the other games they showed for Kinect were more focused on family gaming, but looked fun none the less. Then they unveiled the new slimmer design for the Xbox 360, with built in Wi-Fi and a 250gb hard drive. I'll probably pick one up eventually because i've got 120mb left on my 20gb HDD, from '06. Then they announced everyone in attendance at the briefing would receive one of the new xbox's. Wish i was there. And then it ended.
EA was alright, i was able to watch the entire thing at home which was a step up from the iphone, and they showed some games. Dead Space2, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit from Criterion, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor multiplayer, and some sports stuff, my favorite out of that group was bulletstorm. Thats really all i cared about. I might have forgotten something, oh yeah new Star Wars trailer for The Old Republic MMO by Bioware.
Ubisoft was really boring they had two things i was interested in Asassins Creed Brotherhood which i still dont fully understand, and Ghost Recon which looked really nice. Ubisoft just seeemed to have nothing to show.
They started out strong with Microsoft, and ubisoft ended very poorly. I'm kinda disappointed, I was hoping for another Tom Clancy game, like rainbow six or something. Hopefully Nintendo and Sony can deliver.

My favorite thing about December when it comes to gaming is it's complete lack of releases, which gives me time to buy any game I couldn't from October or November, such as Dragon Age or Forza, and not really miss anything. I know there are a couple games coming out in December this year, but there not on my radar. So what is your favorite thing about December for us gamer's or any other month or season.
I just recently finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and I look forward to purchasing the sequel. If you have the sequel please comment on what you think of it. I know it's good but I want to know what you guys think.
