No, what I'm saying is you should stop putting race into words like that. You're empowering racism by demonizing the word, which has long had use before the derogatory second meaning. Words don't need to be changed. Peoples attitudes do. Politically correct to the point that a descriptive word makes you lose your job. It's sad, and so is the fact you support it

"Words don't need to be changed". That shows that you have no concern for the feelings of people of color.

*holds up card* House! I win homophobic bingo! I have "sexually aggressive", "gay pride parades", and I got the center square kicker, "won't somebody think of the kids?"

I love how people cry racism over it. Believe it or not (and this is crazy), the word 'chink' is actually a real word, and it has nothing to do with race.

Yes, I'm posting this again.

crack·er/ˈkrakər/

Noun:
  1. A thin, crisp wafer often eaten with cheese or other savory toppings.

It's all in the context.

Exactly. So if someone talks about crackers in a commercial I don't expect them to lose their jobs

This is about 18 layers of dumb. A lasagne of dumb.

Don't worry. One day you'll realize how broken our society is to become enraged over the use of a proper word simply because the guy is asian, and has absolutely nothing to do with his phrase. If it was in regards to a black or white player, there wouldn't be an issue. I suggest you meditate on that for a moment

Congratulations! You found the point of the discussion! That we should be aware of racial connotations of words, and work towards an inclusive language. I'm so proud of you.

I know, right? If only there was some kind of way to mark who was gay and who wasn't, that would end all the confusion. Maybe something they could wear on their sleeve? Like, I dunno, some kind of shape, a symbol. How do you feel about a pentagram? It's close, but I feel we can do better.

@martyarf: I think you need to go back a few pages and get some context, my friend. Welcome to Giant Bomb!

Tell me the context for saying that minorities are touchy. :3 I can't wait!

Words... with two meanings... what manner of sorcery is this...?

This woman agrees with the post on the database, even if you don't. Or maybe you meant that eating tacos is your contribution to the Latin community. Or maybe you should look at the thesaurus?

Either way, you are right that I am not actually offended by anything you said, because I don't see what's to be upset about. It's the same way I feel about the ESPN caster's comment. I just wanted to point out how touchy everyone gets about something so trivial and how annoying it is. Judging by how many times you keep returning to the well, the annoying part is at least working...

Minorities are being touchy now. How darling!! Maybe this racism thing would be over if people would just stop talking about it, am I right?
