I can not express how good the design of the main sites are, too. 
When you look at ANY other media sites, they're just... a mess. 
 
Support the art of good web design.

I feel like the money is for the (relatively) impartial reviews, great design, great support, and regular content. Plus, a shirt or whatever.

The crazy videos like Big Live Live Show and  TNT and whatever are a connection and supplication to the community. If you sit down and watch 7 straight hours of these people doing this shit all at once... you're kind of a crazy person. And not in a good way. 
Offense intended. Haha.

It has one built in.

Really fascinating service model that Activision has developed. 
 
I'm not going to buy into it, but I know a lot of people who will, and I think it's awesome that they're taking the chances on evolving pay models for games. It's the perfect time for this, too. Getting people locked into their Elite service just as  competitors seem to have their hackles really raised.
  
It's absolutely filthy in some ways but undoubtedly innovative and seemingly what their target audience wants desperately. 

Subscription-only makes sense.

It's kind of crazy how much I agree with this man's childish rants.
