Too Human Drama

I just want to say to everyone who claims Denis Dyack brought this on himself, leave it be. Can you really fault a developer for standing by his product? Too Human has been his pride and joy for the past decade and I believe his sincere enthusiasm for the game is truly admirable. Personally, I love to see developers such as Dyack and Peter Molyneux, who are enthralled by their own creations. Their excitement is what gets me excited to play their games. Sure, Dyack might have made a few missteps with addressing the public criticism, but his intentions were just. I have not played the retail copy of the game, but I certainly plan to at some point. I enjoyed what I played of the demo and the negative criticism of the game isn't going to stop me from forming my own opinion. I just hope Dyack doesn't get too discouraged by the negativity, but rather uses it as incentive to produce an even better sequel, whenever it may come.

He did indeed bring this on himself. As in, his actions caused this to happen. Posting in Internet forums defending your game will never end well (no matter what your intentions), particularly a game which has already had such drama with development. I expect he should know this, Im sure he was advised by many people to leave it alone. People were prepared to be down on this game, and he just provided them fuel.

Personally i've already bought the game on ebay and still cant wait for it to arrive in the mail. I loved the demo.

Here here! I agree totally bud. Also i agree with you Claude.
Like i've said in another post, the gaming industry need more passionate people around to really thrive. You see artists acting like absolute psycho's, and movie producers making pathetic movies (not saying Too human is pathetic (i'm still buying it!)). People should form their own opinions of the game.

If i play the game, and i hate it, so what?! I can trade it in and get another game! At least i can say that i've tried and stuck behind a game that i loved from the demo, and not take the word of some people that play the game just to review it and have a pre conceived notion that the game is crap before it starts.

I'm still trying to figure out what drama is still occurring. Denis Dyack probably didn't think his game would getĀ favorable reviews across the board, but it's in the publics' hands now. Word of mouth and yes "forums" now play a major role inĀ this game's success. I hope the game does well for one reason, to see a developer like Denis Dyack take his energy and passion out of the video game industry would be a great loss.

Now that you put it in this point-of-view I can see where you're coming from. If I had made a game hell yeah I would promote it to the best of my ability.

He needs to stop acting immature. What should he expect? He hyped his game insanely while delivering a product that has always looked to me like more of the same.

I was thinking about this last night, and i would love to see Dyack and Molyneux make a game together. They might be able to keep each other from over hyping the game, and talking about stuff that might not be in there, and the game might turn out awesome. But anyway, I totally agree with you about everyone just needs to leave Denis alone if they dont like the game.
