Castlevania 64? You're just trying to avoid playing scary games, wimps!

Rad Truck!

This game wasnt that terrible as long as you played as belmont.  It sure was not scary though.  Unless by scary you mean scary they let it come through that unpolished.  Or that they thought it was a good idea naming a dude Reinhardt Schneider.

Always be Whipping!

Ha, brilliant ending. Castlevania 64 is cursed, cursed I tells ya! Anywhoo I'm looking forward to when you two actually start playing some legitimately scary games.

Posted by Make_Me_Mad

You guys should have suffered through it until you got to the garden full of chainsaw weilding maniacs that hunted you through the hedges.  These are kind of feeling incomplete if you don't bother to get into them a little!

Posted by Vexxan

Kamikaze skeletons sure are fucked up. Brilliant ending!

Posted by Video_Game_King

Oh shit, you guys are gonna play Clock Tower (if that tree is to be believed)? I'd stay the hell away from that. Spoiler: it sucks.

You better take on the scariest game ever, Puzzle Agent!

Posted by Akrid

I love Castlevania 64! I was right around the age where it was pretty scary as well.

Posted by Creamypies

These better get longer. Especially for games like Silent Hill 2... that game needs you time to develop its unique atmosphere.

Posted by RandomInternetUser

Man, that was great.  Ending was amazing.

Posted by Mento

I'd honestly leave Fatal Frame to last (or last but one to Amnesia.) Hunting those ghosts in first-person is acres more terrifying than dealing with James Sutherland's penis envy or whatever old Tetrahedron Noggin was about.

Ditto with Siren. Shibitos are several levels of fucked up and you need to constantly stay out of the visual range of their fanatically happy bleeding eyes.

Fantastic. Loved the ending.

You interns are putting out some really great content!

New episodes tomorrow! Stay tunned!

THIS GAME IS A GOOD GAME YOU INGRATES.

Posted by BoOzak

@Make_Me_Mad: I remember that, didnt help that all the hedges in the maze looked identical. I also remember there being a time limit which is more frustrating than scary.

This game was totally playable back in it's era, since as Matt & Steve mentioned you kinda had to deal with dodgy cameras and death traps back then. I'm not sure whether this is the game that once you beat it you're asked to go back and play through it on hard to get the ending if so.. i'm glad things have changed since then, if a game pulled that kind of shit these days there'd be riots!

I can't believe the argument regarding how indestructible ghosts are wasn't brought up. Sure, it's hard to break a femur, but can you break a ghost? I dare you to rip a ghost in half, Steve!

Are you guys playing ROMS?

Posted by Sammo21

oh man this game is boners but I remember renting it and beating it.

Posted by TheHT

LOL that ending jumped me.

Posted by Chocobodude3

You need to play System Shock 2

Posted by Rhombus_Of_Terror

I saw Amnesia at the top of that list, I have yet to touch that game, it taunts me on Steam :/

Posted by DougQuaid

Oh God! that ending!

Posted by Bocam

Why is this on the youtube channel and not on the main site?

Posted by EvilDingo

Nice series and awesome ending :-)

Posted by Steve_Ramirez

@EvilDingo: Thanks!

@RhombusOfTerror: I'm terrified just thinking about it...

@TheHT: Same here.

@GlenTennis: No!

@JackiJinx: Dare accepted.

that skeleton was so fucked up. and best. ending. ever.

I already can't wait for the Amnesia episode. Even though it's hard to get really scared when you are with 2 people, making jokes.

Games are only really able to scare you if you are alone, and playing it in a dark room.

They should record separate commentated playthroughs in dark rooms, alone, I want to see Kessler pee his pants.

Still, keep up the great work!

@endaround: That's a great idea

I'm a really big fan of these Spook Looks!

Great spook-look. You are not the only one who was scared by this game Kessler! It scared me, but I managed to get to the part with the chainsaw guys in the garden, and that's when I lost it and put the game down for a long time. Picked up the follow-up Legacy of Darkness a while ago and finished that entire game as each of the characters (Legacy of Darkness adds 2 new characters, and includes the original game as well if I recall). Not an amazing game but better than people seem to think it is.

That ending was pretty scary though. ;P

terrifying

Scariest thing back in the day was playing games on the snes with my brother at night with the sound muted hoping the parents wouldn't find out.

I also hate it when games mispronounce Wallachia, given that my grandparents are from Transylvania. Do your research announcer guy.

Posted by LiquidSwords

I never got to play a lot of games on the 64, but people kept telling me to avoid this game like the plague!

Lemon's Laugh, so good!

Posted by KarlPilkington

Very good content. Kessler is great!

Posted by SonicFire

@MattBodega: You totally made an MST3K joke with that skeleton... whether or not you realize it, nice.

Posted by zombie2011

Kessler is really funny, the other guy not so much.

Posted by TwoLines

I think there's a pretty good chemistry between you guys.
Kessler is a loose cannon and Lemon is there to set things straight and control him.
It's a real buddy cop film.

Posted by Fogh

Superb ending.

@Lemon: What? Wait. You don't mean to say. No you can't mean to say... it... wasn't... planned?
