Hey I made a Metacritic guessing game, for me and my friend to play. It works alright, and we are having fun with it, so I thought I would share it.

The thing is pretty automatic at this point. You only have to type in your own guess, the correct Metacritic score, and your name if you want to. The sheet takes care of points, look, and average score count and all that. It only supports two players, if you want to add more, then you will have to correct some of the math.

From me and my friends game, I'm getting my ass kicked.

DISCLAIMER: I'm a horribly programmer / spreadsheet guy / speller. At the moment, the math works, but only barely. I'm sure there are much smarter ways to do everything, but the system that is in place works and make sense to me. If nothing else, I at least think it looks pretty cool.

Lot's of o's and 1's, I love it. And it even kind of works?

If you have any improvements please do tell. The big thing that I had planed to do, but couldn't figure out, was for the sheet to pull the Metacritic scores automatic too.

Again, I'm not a good programmer to any degree, this is the first thing I have done that is even remotely programming related. That's why this is a Google spreadsheet, and not a made in a real programming language. If you want to run with the idea, perfect it in some much smarter way. Feel free to do so.

HOW TO GET IT

I don't know.... I have the link, I guess you can open it, and from there make a copy of the sheet.

I think it's going to be difficult for your kids to die of old age. (...) Because I don't see the world lasting much longer. What do you think about that?

Wow... Tv has really changed, would love to see someone on American Idol getting asked that question.

1. Hohokum

Don't write it off as a hippy game, for hippies, and also bongo drums. And weed hihihi. It's a cool inventive n game, that most of all reminds me of the platforms of the late 90's, or even Metal gear solid. It has real gameplay, it has an ending, and it's a lot more varied than most other games these days. Oh, and it's the most beuteful thing since forever, the art is sooo good.

2. Transistor

Kind of came and went. I still really loved it. I rarely care about combat, but had so much fun with this. One of the biggest complaints the game seemed to get, was about it's plot. Which really makes me sad. Have we not moved past plot discussion...

3. Nidhogg

Just great fun. This is the game I have spent the most time on, of all the games of this type (Like Sportfriends, Samurai Gunn, and so on) It's just hypnotic, like few other games, the colors and synth really suck me in, and makes me feel all fuzzy inside.

But yeah, hasn't been a great year for games, the worst one I remember. But hopefully next year will make it up.

So if I just buy a pack of rubber things, like the one in the pic. Should I then begin with removing the originals, or do I put the new ones on top of them.

I haven't, but let me share a related story.

I was on a trip with my family. We had been driving for hours, and my alcoholic grandmother NEEDED A DRINK. (A Sol y Sombra to be exact) We stooped in the middle of a lager suburb/holiday complex, looked around, and finally found a place that served alcohol. It was called "Buenos Aires" and looked "night club" like from the outside. Turned out it was one, just open in the middle of the day. The walls were purple or black. It had gross leather furniture, and flat screens with soft core porn music videos. My sisters had to pee, and I follow them to the restrooms. The place, and the 5 or so guys that hanged out, creeped us all out. To get to the ladies room, my sisters past the mens room. The door was open, and my sisters peeked in. (Not that they wanted a peak, but it was only natural, seeing as they past by, and was looking for the right restroom).

In the mes room. Right beside the door opining, a guy was standing with his shorts lightly pulled down, in front a mirror, and COCK OUT. I don't know what he was looking for. He was just calmly looking at his flaccid dick in the mirror. He turned around, saw my sisters, smiled a bit, and left. On the way past me, he blinked and smiled at me, then proceeded to put his hand on my shoulder. I'm not sure what he wanted to indicate. "Shit happens", maybe "Cool cock, right?" or "Your sister is hot". I don't know. But that place was fucked up. The cock was warm, and flat too.

I'm not going to tell you to pay attention if you don't want to. It's better that you do something in silence, then disturbing the people around you. I couldn't play games in class, too much of a suckup, I guess. I'm usually pretty attentive in school. But my friends were NOT, and I enjoyed watching over there shoulder. They played a lot of:

  • Don't Starve
  • FTL
  • Crusader Kings
  • Tetris

I'm forgetting a bunch. But that was what they did last time I sat with them in class.

Nope. Looks like standard anime main character design 101. I have faith in the game and everything, but he just looks boring as shit

He seems to lack the style of previous Persona MCs, but at the same time I think he looks far more mature which makes me really like his design.

You think? I think he looks exactly like the dudes from 3 and 4. Tall thin, dressed in black. Biggest innovation is the goofy glasses.

I really love this game. It's so much more than what people seem to insist it is. It's the most FEZ like thing I have played since, well... FEZ. The world is really well imagined and so creative, but packed with it's own logic and it's own small puzzles. I'm still trying to uncover everything it has to offer, and every time I think I'm done, something new jumps at me.

This isn't just a "interesting art game", it's puzzle game that gives you two button proms at the begging, and then let you figure out the rest.

I will admit this game speaks to me in ways, it probarly wont' speak everybody. But it hit's all my sweet spots. A great deal of mystery and exploration, mixed with really cool art and creativity. Plus, it's actually pretty fun to play.

So don't do your self the disservice of writing it of as an "art game", like you wrote of FEZ for just being an easy indie platformer. Instead give it a chance, help me figure out what beating this game means, and how you do it under 60 minutes.
