Pyre. It just didn't click with me at all and I'd been waiting for Supergiant's next game for so long. I was let down huge. Totally appreciate the team doing something so very different from their previous releases, though.
1080p certainly looks clearer on my TV than 720p does, but I sit far enough away that the lower quality of 720p doesn't particularly bother me when playing games. If I had the choice between 1080p and 60fps I'd take 60fps every time.
I liked Deadshot and that was basically it. I didn't even particularly like Harley Quinn. A lot of the gags really did just feel like the movie trying too hard, the same goes for the pop songs chosen for the one line they contain that applies to a scene. The first half of the movie is a mess, and the second half is better but pretty dumb. Jared Leto's Joker sucked, it didn't particularly help that few of his scenes felt like they made a lot of sense and were just "LOOK AT THE JOKER AND HOW WACKY AND EVILS HE IS". I didn't think Leto's performance was that bad, it probably could have worked with more context and a bigger role in the film.
Little of the film felt like it had much logic applied in general.
The movie had this poorly applied attempt at style slopped on top of it that really irked me. I hated the subtitle font and most of the various graphics layered on top of the film - mostly in the first half. It definitely felt like a film that was messed with towards the end of its production in a desperate attempt to follow what the studio thought were new trends set by other films.
Killer Croc looked cool. The story they tried to tell with El Diablo could have been good, and Jay Hernandez was clearly trying to give his character gravity, but the film's editing kind of killed any connection I had to his story.
So yeah, bad movie. A bummer, I had hope for it.
WB have to get a DC film right at some point, right?
Heath Slater goes out with a really bad gimmick... gets himself over... gets murdered by old ass rhyno... sigh.
Naw man, that stuff is what Heath is great at. Really fun segment with a fun promo, and he made the gore look a million bucks. And Heath seems like the kind of guy who's pretty happy to do what's asked for him, especially if he's given the kind of TV time he got there to get over.
