I didn't like 5 much but it was mostly because of the writing, the sequences where they just take you out of the game into an awful villain monolgue and how you were always getting attacked by something every 20 seconds. I liked the gameplay and the world though.

I'm enjoying New Dawn so far. The writing is still awful apart from a few moments so far and the villains are bad but out of the way. I like the base building stuff and scavenging for materials. The expeditions are also a cool idea and I've enjoyed those so far along with being able to give outposts back for a harder challenge and more rewards.

I don't like the RPG elements though, those feel really forced and don't add anything. The skill tree continues to be lame in far cry and they removed weapon customization in favor of tiered weapons. So with my level 1 and 2 weapons I couldn't even attempt a level 3 outpost because enemies were crazy bullet sponges until I got level 3 and 4 weapons. So I'm not a fan of that and weapon variety is still a problem for the series. I was hoping they'd get more creative when they showed off the saw launcher but that's really the only crazy weapon they add. Everything else is standard far cry stuff.

I'm enjoying the game a lot though and I like it better than 5.it being smaller and shorter helps too, it doesn't wear out its welcome.

@cheappoison: lol bloodhound isn't near the top. His passive is useful but not all that necessary and his ult is great when combined with Bangalore but his ability is trash. Short range, shows a last known location which isn't that useful and most importantly gives away your position.

Bangalore is great apart from her useless ult. Her passive is nice and the smoke is versitile but her ult is garbage. Super slow and easy to avoid even in open areas.

Lifeline is still better because everything she does helps the entire team. Her passive is easily the best in the game for the fast healing alone and her ult is also the best in the game because it equips your entire team with purple and gold gear. Her ability isn't great because the range is so short so it's super situational but it's still plenty useful

I chose far cry and got crackdown on gamepass. I'm looking forward to metro as well but reviews made it sound super janky and I'm also betting that goes on sale before far cry

I couldn't decide between this and metro so I went with this. It's familiar and I know what I'm getting into and it sounds like they got rid of the awful story stuff from 5. I haven't started it yet because I decided to check out crackdown and anthem first and then spent the rest of Friday playing apex

It's kinda fun but also it just feels so soulless. It'd be a lot better if there were less loading screens and more enjoyable exploration. I think I'm gonna roll with the division 2 instead because that seems like it's gonna have more of what I want

I was pumped to get it but there is so much coming out this week and Apex being good actually ruined that for me. Gonna wait on a discount and some patches. Decided to go with New Dawn because it was cheaper and a known quantity and I'm gonna try Crackdown 3 on gamepass.

I liked it, I thought it was a good game apart from a weird section in the middle that didn't really fit and lasted way too long. I enjoyed Rise more but shadow was solid

@humanity: her ult is great for getting the team across of open areas, flanking and just generally moving around the map faster. It's super situational but when you have a good wraith player it makes a difference
