Dear male adolescent Giantbomb.com members.

I notice that a significant number of you think that it is a good idea to go on video game message boards and open up sad, pathetic threads about what you perceive is the mythical, magical creature of "girl". Clearly, you think, this is the place to do that.

Seriously. You're embarrassing yourselves. Look, there are many awesome internet places that were made to help and support you in this strange world, like relationship health.  There are nice guys and gals eager to listen to your stories and views and help you out.

Please. It's physically painful.

As long as it's all kept in the "off-topic" section, it's not really an issue. Anyone can turn off or on each major forum, so you could just turn that one off.

But yeah, I kinda agree at the same time that it's dumb.

lol, yeah I've noticed a recent increase in that sort of thread, it's kind of pathetic. But occasionally funny.

Posted by ArchScabby

I'd appreciate it if someone would start about ten relationship threads just because of this stupid post.

Posted by Sadisticham

I can't figure out if your asking the topic creators to stop making the threads asking for advice about women or girls in which case i agree completely. Or if your having a go at people who make sexist remarks and jokes in those threads in which case i disagree and you need to stop being a sissy.

Yeah i've noticed there have been a lot of threads about relationship stuff

and apparently 90% of Giantbomb is full of studs who have women constantly begging to have their gamer babies

Your not helping.

It's pretty much inevitable so, GET HYPE?

Meh, people can talk about what they want, so whatever.  Personally, though, I don't care for that shit.

I wish those threads were treated the same way as people asking for health advice, ie. insta-lock. Unfortunately, these pleas for help are cunningly designed as "discussion", an excuse to make dumb generalisations and even more idiotic jokes. If I were a woman I'd be inclined to cut some nerds right now.

I'll remember this the next time you come around looking for a shoulder to cry on.

This thread made me laugh.

However, women are no laughing matter. They cannot be trusted.

Follow this man's advice.

It doesn't help making a topic complaining about past topics and I think you mean emotionally painful, but thanks for the link to that site.

How is your text so big?

Excellent use of image.

People here, are not the ones you should be asking relationship advice from. End of story.

That made me laugh.

Also:
Stop whining about sad, pathetic threads on a forum. That's sad and pathetic.

I don't know about that.  Claude has a pretty head on his shoulders.  He'll probably disagree.

While I agree with your sentiment, not really our job to dictate what people can and can't whine about.

Weren't you ever 13?

Don't worry, in a few years they'll get it. Someone always has to be 13 though.

If you want company on that front porch of yours while you yell at the whippersnappers however, I would be more than happy to be there for you. Hell, I'll even bring a pitcher of lemonade.

I lol'd.

Correlation between readership's average age plummeting and emo threads about women rising noted.

Can we have this stickied and added to the forum rules? Because I totally agree with Meowayne on this one.

@nk19: Is that all you ever say? It just seems every time I see your name you post that. Do you just hate people that can talk?

I don't know if you know this but the average person playing a video game is going to be a 14-30 year old male.

If you can freeze said lemonade on a stick, I think we can make this porch hangout a trio.

Why?  Do you where there are some girls?  What are they like?  Can you introduce us?
Posted by Gamer_152

There may be better places to go, but if people want to start threads on here about girls and relationships I don't have a problem with it, although OP, I don't think you actually read the thread on "the mythical creature of girl", it's not about what you think it is.

Actually, the average gamer age is around 34.

But what's the average age of a gamer that regularly posts on video game forums? I'd put money on what Jeff Goldblum put in there completely unfounded, to be more accurate.

Posted by RavenX302

I would say I get a little sick of seeing these teenage "I got a love poem from a girl" topic on a fucking video game site. Seriously, even in Off-topic forums, I don't think it belongs here. Then again people have the right to say what they wish....I guess it just seems to me to be a lot of these type of topics floating around lately.

So there's this girl...

This is the truth.

Oh ho! Quite the conundrum now!

As for the advice threads, don't see too much of a problem with them, as long as they don't start appearing all over the place. But maybe the guys who posted them wanted to see replies from familiar posters rather than strangers on an advice forum. Plus, I'd guess advice forum posters would be pretty soft whereas on here people have been straight to the point.

I'd like to be able to read some off-topic posts, without having to put up with this crap though.
Really couldn't agree with Meowayne more on this , I'm really tired of these threads.
