@exsiccation: You've put way more thought into any of this than I have. My simple thing was that I played Andromeda(at launch), and I played Drawn to Death. Drawn to Death is a far worse game(to me, obviously). I never said anything about Andromeda being better now, after patches, btw.

Glitches aside, a lot of people seem to dislike the story/characters far more than I did, too. Story wasn't amazing or anything, but I had no real issue with it, and I kinda liked most of the crew to varying degrees.

Now if I were to sit down and make a list of the worst games of 2017 ME:A might be on there somewhere(even though I enjoyed playing it), because the state of it at launch is undeniable, even if I didn't run into anything all that bad. It just wouldn't be at the top.

It's not that insane when you consider they expected both Drawn to Death and Bubsy to be bad games in the first place. Honestly if either of those games were good they would have easily taken the "Most Surprising" category.

That would be reasoning for it to be "most disappointing." Expectations not being meet = disappointing. I think the main reason they gave worse game to ME:A is the bugs/glitches, which is fair. I never really ran into any serious problems, so that obviously affected my overall enjoyment/opinion on the game.

Seems like Brad hit every single glitch in the game, numerous times. If that was me, I'd probably hate it too. Makes me wonder what they would be saying about it if they didn't hit so many ridiculous bugs during their playthroughs, though, but there's no way of ever knowing that.

I love how they added "That We Played" to the category title and people still act like these are undeniable commandments from on high.

What do people not understand about these awards exactly? It's always about passion in just about every category; Brad's (and most everyone else's) passionate disgust over Andromeda won out over "Boy, Bubsy is a deeply terrible, lazy game that isn't even self-aware and totally shouldn't have been made."

Is it possible to have fun playing Andromeda? Sure. Is it the worst game they played? I think they made the case, and it wasn't just Brad. Get over it.

And what, exactly, is wrong with someone commenting about their opinion on the matter? Isn't that what this comment section is for?

I mean, I know I'm not a well known game critic or anything, but I don't see what's wrong with me saying I don't think Andromeda was bad enough to win this category.

Do people not get that it is "the worst game they played"? If I got the same bugs that brad got I would totally nominate it for the award. The fact that you or I didn't get the same glitches or played it after they fixed some of it, is irrelevant to the argument.

I don't care that they nominated it. The idea that it should win is the crazy part to me. I mean...fucking Drawn to Death and Bubsy are better(even by a small margin)? Really? No way.

But hey, it is what it is. Different experiences, opinions, etc.

Man. Mass Effect: Andromeda might the biggest disagreement I've ever had with the GB staff. I played it at launch on PS4 running into almost no bugs/glitches.

The idea that ME:A is worse than fucking Drawn to Death and Bubsy is one of the most insane things I've ever heard.

@joedangerous: Those are definitely some valid criticisms, and as I said, the game has issues. The issues it has just aren't bad enough for me to label it as the most disappointing game of the year. I actually kinda liked most of the crew though, so that wasn't an issue for me. Also, my main priority for any game is simply, "Am I enjoying/having fun playing this." For ME:A the answer to that question would be, yes. And as I said, everyone has different taste/experiences, so I definitely don't expect everyone to agree with me.

BTW, I romanced Vetra too, so we agree with her being the best crew member. I don't think I heard her say, "Sup bae." I can't say for sure she doesn't say it, though. Maybe she just never said it to me for some reason, or maybe I missed it. She could have said it and I just wrote it off as more bad writing and forgot about it, since that is one of the issues I would say the game has. I liked a lot of the dialogue/crew banter, though, so I didn't think the writing was all bad.

@indigozeal: @wemibelle: I gotta admit, based on previous experiences talking about Mass Effect on the internet, those were not the responses I expected to get after I posted that, so that was nice.

And, as for RE7, I loved that game(I gave it second place on my GOTY list), so it definitely wasn't a disappointment to me. It was the first RE to actually feel like RE to me in a long while. I feel like most of the GB staff seemed to like it well enough too, or weren't disappointed by it, at least.

Mass Effect: Andromeda definitely has some issues, but the way people talk about it as if it is one of the worst games ever made is complete nonsense to me. I just don't get the extreme hate for it(kind of reminds me of how people lost their shit over ME3's ending). The story wasn't anything special, but it was fine. Nice visuals, fun combat, etc. I got lucky and didn't really run into any of the bugs/glitches I see people talking about, so maybe that impacted my overall enjoyment a lot, but I had fun playing through the game. Not as much as the other Mass Effects, but definitely enough to not really be all that disappointed.

Personally, I was far more disappointed by Shadow of War. I liked the first game quite a bit, and pretty much feel the exact opposite about Shadow of War. I didn't enjoy playing it at all, and actually found it to be kind of bad.

Everyone has different experiences, though, so it is what it is.

I hope the story is easy likevthe first. I can't hang with MK's story

I'd say it is, but I don't remember having any issues with MK's story either. Injustice has difficulty settings for the story, I thought MK did too, but it's been a long time since I played that, so I can't really remember.

I kind of don't care about fighting games, and I totally don't care about DC. But this looks really cool for some reason.

Probably because it is. I'm not really a fighting game person either, but I find the combat in these Injustice games to be fun. With certain characters, at least. Not really a fan of the bigger, slower dudes in this. These games work as perfect Gamefly rentals for me. Play for a few days, have some fun, send it back.

@lestephan: I've barely played any of these type of games and I loved Dragon Quest Heroes 1. I did all the quests/optional stuff/everything in that game. You need to at least give 'em a shot. I imagine you can grab the first one fairly cheap by now.

Personally, I'm holding off on playing this one for now because I haven't finished Persona 5 yet. Don't really want to be playing two long ass RPG games at the same time.
