Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

 Last night I had a sleep over with a few of my friends. One of them brought this game. At first I wasn't interested in it, but when we got bored we popped this in and it was actually really fun. There are tons of games on here, but some of them are downright stupid. Like  Columns, for example. That game is crap. If I wanted to play Tetris, I would. Also,   Ecco. I never got that game. You're a dolphin talking to other dolphins and eating fish...that's all I got out of it. But there are some great games, like   Sonic the Hedgehog,   Comix Zone, and   Vectorman on here that really make me want to buy this.   And it's only $20. That is not a bad deal at all. I have $60 from birthday money, and it's no doubt that some of it is going into this collection. This game also acknowledges Ash's existence, which is awesome. 

 

Battlefield Bad Company 2

 One of my favorite shooters from this generation was the first Bad Company. This one, so far, seems better than the first gameplay wise. But I don't like the fact that they pretty much took the whole Battlefield gameplay and made the controls exactly like Call Of Duty. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but can't you be more original? The characters in this game, so far, seem more serious. They do have the same personality and such, but I'm hearing less crazy jokes. But then again, I'm only three hours in, and I don't know if the story stuff gets any better. I have not yet had the chance to play multiplayer, but I heard it was good.

I have the same problem too with the images.
 
Sonic's Ultimate Collection has a really nice selection of games. No school like the old school. = - P

I love those old game compilations, they're such a great value.  However, Vectorman is terrible.

I hate Columns with a passion. Not a big fan of Vectorman either.
 
Also, Ecco gets pretty crazy. Time travel and alien ship crazy.

Last time I had a sleepover, I passed out at a friend's house. We just played music. I never played games like that, but I did play NFL Quarterback Club with a group of friends back in '97. We had a league and two TVs. The big screen was used for big games or on a draw. 
 
But my nephew would have sleepovers and those guys played a shit load of games. Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros. and Melee. He played the fuck out of some Halo with friends. I saw so many games played by him and his group of friends and they loved to kick my ass. 
 
Now he just works, because he's 23 and shit. He has all three current consoles and barely plays games. He told me he only has one friend that comes over now for gaming. I say, enjoy it while it lasts.

The controls in BC2 are nothing like the controls in CoD...... you press RB to knife, click the right stick to crouch, press LB to throw a frag grenade.....

Shinobi 3 and Ristar are fantastic games on the collection. When my wife was in hospital I played both of those games a ton (had the same collection on the PSP). Even though I hadn't played those games in over a decade, they were so well built that they still handled really well years later. Don't get me wrong, they are both pretty difficult, but their quality (especially visually in Ristar's case) makes you want to stick with it.

Yeah it sucks, but it's nobody's fault. It was pretty much the Megadrive's swansong. At least it's the last big release I can remember coming out for it. I remember playing it and saying something like "Dude this game looks and sounds awesome! I don't think a game's gonna be this good on the Megadrive in a while", turns out I was right.

I picked up that Genesis collection on the PS3 for about $25.  Really solid purchase, and some of the old school RPG's are worth a look too.
