Is the Quick Look EX title dead? This game has a neat look though.

Seems like it. There have been a couple of "We play X with Y" uploaded recently, which would normally just have been put under the Quick Look EX brand.

Honestly the name change makes sense to me. The "EX" never really told you much about what made it different from a regular Quick Look. With this new name it's a lot more explicit and easy to understand upfront what the video is about.

@hobbaswaggle: Couldn't agree more. I find those star icons to look tacky and unoriginal at the best of times, but in this game in particular it really sticks out like a sore thumb due to the clash with the rest of the art style. The same goes for most of the other UI icons like the cogwheel and the like.

It really feels like the UI and gameplay elements were designed by two different teams. If they really wanted to go with stars and other generic icons like that couldn't they at least have styled them to look more consistent with the rest of the games art style?

I have not encountered any technical issues with the player, but I'll have to agree with the users who complain about it's current design.

While I don't love the whole "flat" design that has become so trendy lately, overly glossy design is not really any better. And since the rest of the site has a relatively "flat" design it really stands out and feels like a generic third-party player, rather than something that was designed specifically for this site.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking you to revert back to the old interface. I do think it's high time that was updated, but this ludicrously glossy look really isn't the redesign I was hoping for.

@branthog: I have always used chrome on GB and have never had any problems with the playback at all, well with the exception of some live stream issues but I don't think that's a chrome.related.problem.

It would be theoretically better to have an environment where you can take off your shoes, wear sandals, only wear socks, or wear shoes based on what you want to makes you comfortable and not what somebody else or The Company says.

While I don't entirely disagree with this notion I do feel that one justification for keeping an environment either all shoes or no shoes, is that when you don't have shoes on you generally want to have the floor be clean enough that your socks / feet doesn't get dirty from walking around, and keeping the floor clean is not going to be easy if some people are walking around with outdoor shoes on.

If everyone is wearing shoes then having the floor be a bit dirty is no big deal, and of course if nobody is wearing shoes then keeping the floor clean will be a lot easier in general.

It should be noted that I live in a place where outdoor shoes tend to get dirty quit quickly, and I don't know if that is the case in a city like San Francisco. But I would imagine that it is at least part of the reason why a company would not want to have a mix of shoe and non-shoe wearers walking around.
