 I wrote this for my blog crudepixel.com but thought I'd share it here too with you guys. :) I'm in Bahrain and it's the first race of the season. I've qualified to 18th grid position after two days of practice and two qualifying sessions. My racing team wants me to finish 18th, and I'm confident, I know this track now like the back of my hand though I don't know how to handle myself within a pack of other racers. Darksiders kicks off with a foot-stomping, bombastic beginning, literally. You’re thrown into the apocalypse of the human race, policemen struggling to put up a futile fight are dwarfed by hellish creatures, buildings are falling, and vehicles are being thrown around like marbles. Above you are magnificently designed winged warriors taking down helicopters and the ambience is a symphony of explosions, screams and mutilation. Impressivly Dissapointing 3

Look at the feature set of what this game has to offer; a 220 KM2 island to explore which is entirely seamless, you can travel from one end to the other without need of a loading screen. 70 weapons and weapon variations, 40 vehicles including boats and helicopters, 300m draw distances, destructible cover and buildings, fumes of smoke pouring out of burnt tanks which last for hours... It must have been quite a task to fit all this into a game, streaming technology for environments as big as this...

From the perspective of a sim-racing fan 0

  I am quite a hardcore racing sim fan. I own a g25 steering wheel with a clutch and H-Pattern shifter, I’ve dropped literally hundreds of hours into GTR and rFactor and for me, playing games like GRID or Forza is difficult because of the console focused, arcade car handling.
