  • I recently purchased Forza 3 and damn is it a great game, but I just realised today when my gold live membership expired, that the storefront is not available to silver members. Now I have learned to accept that you need to have a gold membership to play online (even though thats stupid) but to block one of the most interesting features of the game because your not paying MS ...

  • Everyone keeps talking about Trials HD on podcasts and gaming websites, and yet somehow no one has mentioned a little game called called "Elastomania" or as I knew it as, "Across". I got this game of a friend years ago, I'm pretty sure it was free or shareware at least, but it basically is "Trials HD" just in 2D, you just control the tilt and the speed, how has this ...

  • The veritable deluge of DLC coming from the Bethesda's sky of Fallout 3 is unprecedented and commendable, hopefully its a good sign of things to come from other developers. They kept me coming back for more every month and a half to a game from Christmas 08, happily handing over my dough for a small sliver of their sweet sweet pie. On the whole though the DLC I found to ...

Now I have learned to accept that you need to have a gold membership to play online (even though thats stupid) but to block one of the most interesting features of the game because your not paying MS money is just plain wrong. It really pissed me off, and then later on I was reading how MS is planning on blocking third party storage devices in the next dashboard update, and considering I was planning on buying a cheaper 120gb hard drive off of Ebay, this added more fuel to my fury. Its totally absurd that a week ago I spent nearly half the amount of a 120gb drive on a external 1tb drive for my laptop, and now they are tightening their grip on the consumer. I bought the console, I bought their games, shouldn't I be able to play them fully featured without continuing to pay a fee? I really don't care about the features of Live that people laud as being worth the money, as far as I'm concerned PSN is now a superior service, simply because its free, as it should be.

I managed to find the website www.elastomania.com where you can download the demo. Does anyone know about this or am just crazy?

The veritable deluge of DLC coming from the Bethesda's sky of Fallout 3 is unprecedented and commendable, hopefully its a good sign of things to come from other developers. They kept me coming back for more every month and a half to a game from Christmas 08, happily handing over my dough for a small sliver of their sweet sweet pie. On the whole though the DLC I found to be somewhat disapointing, Operation Anchorage was a nice experiment but lacked any of what I found interesting about Fallout in the first place, and the Pitt was mercifullly short as it was pretty much terrible. Broken one me over for the simple fact that it increased the level cap (I had been floating on 20 for a long long time) but it was a tad boring and there was a fair amount of recycling going on.

And then Point Lookout comes along, and I feel that this is where Bethesda got it right. Fallout 3's sidequests I found to be far more interesting for the most part than the main quest line, there was something special about wandering toward an undiscovered location and uncovering whole sub plots, characters and truly unique situations from the rest of the game. I relished the discovery and that happened for me time and time again (that what I loved about Oblivion too). With Point Lookout Bethesda just gave me a large new locale and some truly excellent side quests, It still felt like Fallout whilst still being different enough to make it feel new and fresh. Theres a bit of classic horror, some wacky cults, the nautical element of the coast, and the crazy deep south hillbilly vibe, not to mention great characters like Desmond, that goul was a total dude.

In short its what I wanted from Fallout DLC from the get go, just more Fallout, was that so hard Bethesda? having said that I still enjoyed Broken Steel and Mothership Zeta was atleast better than the first two packs.

E3 was pretty awesome this year and I'm happy (and I little bit surprised) that I got all the information I needed from the great folks here at GB. I visit other sites sure, and I did frequent them throughout the E3 week, but nothing captured the atmosphere of the show floor and expertly explained all of the great games in such neat podcast / video shaped packages, in the way GB provided. So without further ado, congrats guys on an awesome site and awesome coverage of a pretty awesome event.

I thought all of Microsoft's new dasoboard stuff was kind of cool, if a little cheesy, and they had a great spread of games on show, Gears 2 looked amazing and I'm and definately hangin for Fable 2. Fallout also looked amazing but at this point I just hope I can get an import copy because its banned in Australia. It must be said that the games Sony had on offer were arguably the best at the show, Killzone is looking great, Resistence is looking incredible, and some of the smaller games like Fat Princess just look cool, and as always LBP is high on my list of games I want.

Anyway what I liked is largely irrelevent because with the wealth of games that are coming out this year, everyone should find something that they like.

Great site guys, GB forever!!!

You guys rock! My hope faded with the... Unpleasantness at the unmentionable site, but now, all is well.

Awesome Yelp review typo on local burger joint: "Nothing spactacular. Ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. Prices are ok and god is so so."
