I'm just rehashing what everyone else is saying, but whatever. Next year, they really should have a clear cut definition of each category before even entering the room. The fact that multiple people came into that podcast, started discussing and removing games from the list, without being on the same page about WHAT the category even was is heartbreaking for a lot of the games that were cut. The fact that Pyre isn't even top three is a shame.
Another point about encumbrance that I dislike in the Bethesda RPGs is that it is binary. You're either encumbered or you're not. 37 warhammers is a-okay, but 38 is waaaay to much. I would probably accept it more if it was a gradient scale where if you're not carrying anything, you're fast an agile, but you slowly become weighed down as you accrue more items. To me, encumbrance is just an anti-fun mechanic, but I completely get where Austin is coming from. I just don't enjoy that aspect of the game.
Yea, kind of a shame they don't try and finish these games. I feel like with these classic FMV games, you don't get to any of the real weird stuff until way late, and only playing two hours isn't going to reveal much. I guess I'll just have to dodge out on this series unless it's something super interesting.
