Waste of Money Part 1: Games I Own but Have Never Played

A list comprising games that I either blew $50/$60 on or picked up for $10 from one of those bins in an electronic store, but for whatever reason, never even bothered to play or in some instances even take out of the packaging.

List items

  • I started it once but shut it off before the opening scene had even finished.

  • The guys at Rebel FM have suggested that this may be the next game they choose for Game Club. If that's the case then it may have a chance of disappearing from this list soon.

  • The 10 point achievement I received in a multi-player match serves only to mock me in my desire to delete this from my gamer tag profile.

  • One of those fateful $10 purchases that I simply never got around to playing.

  • The only game in this list I feel justified in not having touched. I had played through Prince of Persia: Warrior Within; however, a ridiculous glitch/bug in the game prevented me from accessing the portal which led to the final boss fight. As a result I could not finish the game and out of frustration have refused to replay it. I also refuse to play this game until I have finished the second one ergo, I will probably never play it.

  • Damn you $10 bargain bin.

  • No idea why I even bought this one other than it could have been in the middle of my fantasy that I actually appreciated JRPGs

  • I was late to the Ratchet & Clank party, in fact, I did not play the first game until the Playstation 3 had already been released. I played through the first game as well as Going Commando back to back which essentially left me burned out on the series. As a result I never got around to playing this one.

  • Another purchase in the midst of my insane belief that I could be into JRPGs.

  • Might as well buy part two if you have the first one right? Right?

  • Your guess is as good as mine.

  • In my defense I only recently purchased this game when it dropped in price so this game has a very good chance of being a temporary member of this illustrious club.

  • Without a doubt the most embarrassing game in this list. I bought this game day one and it still sits on my shelf in the cellophane wrapping with a bright orange sticker on top of the box which reads "DO NOT SELL BEFORE 10-28-2008." The most pathetic aspect being that I have more than once thought about purchasing the Game of the Year Edition somehow convincing myself that it was a good deal. This is despite the fact that I have paid $60 for the pleasure of shelving the game once already. UPDATE: Out of weakness I bought the Game of the Year Edition for PC not too long ago. I now own two versions of this game that have not been played. I should be shunned. Who knows, maybe someday.

  • Technically, I only purchased Lost & Damned but there is no separate entry for that expansion alone. I finished GTA IV and have absolutely no desire to ever play it again in any form. The storyline was entertaining and the characters were great for the most part, but the actual game part of GTA IV feels like a broken PS2 era game prettied up for the HD-era.
