@snide: Does the method of rolling matter? I've found that by using a cup (Yahtzee style), my drunk friends and I are a lot more capable of rolling ten dice at once than trying to roll them all by hand.

I think using a cup is perfectly legal. Just remember to drink the beer out first. No one likes wet dice. No one.

@crusader8463

This is the mathematician in me, but you wrote 1+1=factorial(3)=6. And that's just wrong.

@Slaker117 Your solution is basic but it works. the problem with it is two things:

a. It's not good programming. If I would ask to do the same for 11-die-prime, you would have to add code and recompile. But you can solve this pretty easily with indexing and arrays.

b. It's bad design. Try to figure out how long your program runs (a stop watch is fine) and try to understand how long it would take it to calculate the odds for 100-die-prime. This is where dynamic programming got you beat. While your program will perform at least 6^100 operations (hitting every possible combination of dice), dynamic programming will only do about 60,000x5=300,000 operations, and with some more work on the code, could probably do less. (The WHY 60,000x5 I'll leave for you to understand, or ask...)

If this whoe thread is interesting for you, take a probability course and a CS algorithms course. Dynamic Programming is usually taught there.

"Say hello to my little facebook friend"

not really a quote, but the bango scene from Deliverance would probably be replaced by them playing "Dueling Bangos" on Rock Band.

"1.21 GigaWatts ?!"... yeah, that one will probably just stay the same.

Duders,

I got a relative flying to Brussels in a couple of days for about 2 days. Any of you know of good game stores in the city ? She wants to get a Kinect...

Also, if you know, what's the price for one in Brussels ?

Thanks !

So.... Yeah....

I got the old 40gb model (old....) but it works fine and wasn't giving me any problems. I've tried reseting it and every time i boot the game, it freezes on the start menu after i press start (or any key for that matter).

The things that are different from the last time it worked fine was that I got the Plus free 30 day membership and i'm in the process of downloading my two games.

Any advice ?

@XivSpew: I actually did get a 1 star rating, and i wasn't "Trying" to be a bad detective, I just was one on this case. Didn't find enough clues/evidence, was terrible at interrogations, couldn't get a confession out of either suspects,...

Capt. Leary yelled at me and I felt bad.

btw, is 4-stars the max rating ?

Font for "High" is blurry for some reason on Chrome Beta, looks fine on FF4
There is no hover effect when you mouse over the featured promo title on chrome. (It gets underlined on FF4 and IE9)   Here's my specs: Windows 7 Chrome 12.0.742.60 beta-m 1920x1080 resolution
Same for me, only running Chrome 11.0.696.57, but on the same 1920x1080 resolution. (A Clue ?!)

Israeli here too and Games For Windows works for me perfectly. I have it ever since I bought Dirt 2 from steam. It is a region thing. Steam pulls its store for you depending on your IP. So games like GTA were non to be found on steam for a very long time.

It will come out, probably the same day as the rest of steam, so not to worry there.
There is a way to bypass this, but it takes a lot of work to reroute your internet through a different IP so that Steam would think your american or european. I say forget about it and It'll come soon enough. I doubt Valve doesn't know to put big selling games like that on every region it has.

I haven't tried it, but you could try to log into the internet steam website for UK (search for steam UK and it's the first hit). Maybe you could buy it through that store and have it appear on your account, but i wouldn't risk it.

You could also try emailing Steam and ask about it to get a better release date.
