Thought I'd update peeps on my situation here. I've fixed my issues by going into the innards of Chrome and re-enabling one of the flash plugins. There were 2 there, one built into Chrome and one stand-alone. The stand-alone plugin was disabled so as not to cause conflicts. Re-enabled and hey presto- fixed! Hope this might help.

Yeah, I'm starting to get all the annoyed people across the world. I got in fine this afternoon, played for a couple of hours and enjoyed myself, but now I can't play a game that I bought. A game that I want to play in single player anyway.

Actually getting annoyed ...

I'm the same on this one, except I seem to get disconnected a lot. There are times when it won't reconnect at all, and a page refresh is needed, but most of the time it is just constant disconnects the reconnects. Happened to me on both iPad and PC, both using Chrome (Windows 7 on PC, latest iOS on ipad).

Can't comment on whether it got better after TR segment, had just left the chat disconnected.

Yeah, it's the fact that it's now telling me it's pre-loaded that I find annoying/amusing. Someone is going to go play it at midnight and be really bummed.

Switched on the PC this morning (Here in U.K.) and was greeted in Origin with Sim City saying that it was ready to be pre-loaded.

"Grand" thought I, "they must have learnt from the botched launch elsewhere"

I went ahead and clicked pre-load, agreed to Ts and Cs and was told it would be 12GB roughly.

About 1 minute later, it said the pre-load had finished and a fat blue banner has been added saying "THIS GAME IS PRE-LOADED".

Whilst my internet is fairly fast, it sure as hell doesn't download 12GB in 1 minute. I'm thinking that this is maybe damage control and they're trying to get some stories out saying "Yeah, we learnt so we allowed pre-loading" or something to that effect. It has to be a lie, maybe it's downloaded the installer? who knows. Oh EA. I do feel sorry for Maxis.

I'm hoping that the guys have a Playstation on with Home streaming in a 2nd/3rd window. Might be a little cluttered but it would really cool to see it from the perspective of Home.

@pepperzz: Lol, solid input there but for real, it's worth a watch. Only mentioning because I've already seen some people dismiss it as Netflix just trying to enter the market. It's worth more than that.

Just finished watching House of Cards on Netflix and jeez, that's a great show.

Thought that Kevin Spacey was amazing throughout, though if I'm being honest the only other actor that really impressed me was Corey Stoll who play congressman Russo.

Bit fearful for how they are going to keep this going. I'd be happy if this was an amazing 2 season show instead of a mediocre 6 or something.

Anyway, if you have liked recent offerings from HBO or other "thinking mans TV" (by that I simply mean not dumb, mindless TV) then it is definitely worth a look. Spacey is on top from throughout.
