Mongoose: Best of 2009

There would have been a whole lot more on this list if I could have.  A top 20 is something I'm going to have to start working on.

List items

  • I only recently played this game, just in time for this list and man, it's as good as people are saying. Well, not as good as some people are saying (Best game ever etc) however, if you're after one of the most solid adventure/action games then you are going to find a lot to love about this game.

  • Another recent play for me, having only just got a PS3 very recently. At first I wasn't blown away by this, but after about 15 minutes I could clearly see what this game was about to only have it trump my expectations. An amazing game.

  • Oh Shit! OH Shit! Motherf*cker did you see that!

This game is a Die Hard movie that you star in.

  • Refined completely over the first one, AC II delivers more of what everyone wanted and still has a couple of neat tricks up it's sleeve to keep you surprised.

  • Wow, for a DLC game this is really impressive. Pretty much the benchmark for what a DLC game can do. Good story, fantastic gameplay and some great extras and features.

  • This game hooked onto me in a bigger way than I thought it would. It's something to do with a mix of extremely good shooting mechanics and loot that done it. Call me crazy, but I think the shooting is actually on par with Modern Warfare 2.

  • I'm in the same boat as Ryan with this one. I'm a huge Beatles fan, I always have been. But this game feds your Beatlemania like nothing else and turns you (me at least) into a die hard, fact knowing fan.

On top of that you have rock solid gameplay and some fantastic visuals. Loved it.

  • Ok, so by now I've played more co-op in MW 2, but until then this was the one to beat. I'm not a huge fan of the "new" Resident Evil games, preferring the old fixed camera ones personally. Don't get me wrong, I love RE 4 I really do and I feel this one, whilst not revolutionary, improved on it in some small areas and was a really fun game with a friend.

  • First off, sorry Vinny.

Second, I agree with Brad. Any message this game tries to give (nothing is forced on you though) can be taken or left - your choice.

Personally, the thing I like about the game is the feeling of movement, just how it feels to float around. I wouldn't say I was affected by playing the game, but I certainly enjoyed it and will go back to float some more in the future.
