I just started playing Gears again and would be interested in cleaning up some DLC achievements if anyone wants to. A lot of them seem really easy, just gotta get 5 people together. Hit me up!
I played Gears 1 and 2 and I was locked out of casual mode immediately. And I wasn't all that leveled up in Gears 2. So I don't know. Also, now I keep picturing Seinfeld doing a whole set on the subject of the Gears of War universe. Like, "What's the deal with the Queen? She's clearly a human but she's leader of Locust?" There's something there, but I can't quite figure it out.
I just moved to Portland, OR a few weeks ago and just saw there is a Retro Gaming Expo happening this weekend. I know this won't matter to most folks on the site at this point, but is there anyone in the Portland area that knows anything about this or is going? I've been checking out the website and it looks pretty great. http://retrogamingexpo.com/
Yeah, I hate öxölklöfför games too!! Wait....yeah, I don't know what that means. I just wanted to sound intellectual. Anyway, interesting looking game. I still think after we die it'll be a lot like Limbo.
I still haven't finished Dead Money. I agree with what's been said about the characters and the story being strong. But I really didn't care for the environment and hated having all of my gear taken away. I don't usually do a lot of sneaking around in Fallout and am much more into loading up on stimpacks and shooting at everything that moves, which didn't work out for me at all in this DLC. My first time playing it, after getting all three companions in position to start the gala or whatever, I just got wrecked by the ghost people over and over and had to revert to an old save. I think it's good they made a DLC that was a different kind of challenge, but I felt like I was under leveled the whole time when I was actually at level 30 or something.
I use to work there with @WelshCleats, who is also the dude that introduced me to Giant Bomb. I graduated from IC in '04. It's a really amazing restaurant. I'm vegetarian and since I've moved away from Ithaca, I haven't been able to find a vegetarian restaurant that can compare to Moosewood. Glad to hear @Kifftopher had such a great meal there, and that we're giving out a Whiskey Media discount sometimes!
