Ok, another quesiton on this same subject.  I'm reading conflicting views on the 360 VGA cable.  Some say it does support and output 1080p whereas other say that the VGA Cable does not unlock the 360's 1080p resolution setting.

Can anyone hooked up to a 1080p monitor or TV with the VGA Cable confirm this?

thanks again community :)

Sometimes that thought bites me.  I still haven't devoured the latest console zelda on Wii even though i've had it for over a year and a half.  I just always want to play on my 360, even if I'm not actively trying to earn an achievement.  It'll be even harder to pull away once I get my new 1080p monitor.

although the lure of pc games will be heightened by that point...

Ok, thanks for the info.  I'm really excited as I haven't had a monitor upgrade since my "old even when I bought it" 2004 monitor :-/

I can't vote.  The sounds they produce are too dissimilar.  I really like both of them.

I wanted to upgrade my monitor that I use for my 360 and PC at home (currently use the 360 VGA cables and a KVM switch to change between my PC and my 360) so I purchased this ASUS 21.5" Widescreen Monitor.  It's native resolution is 1920x1080 16:9, full widescreen HD.  I know the 360 VGA cables don't support that apparently (the monitor has HDMI, but my 360 doesn't have HDMI output).

I'm curious if anyone knows of any problems I might face using this setup (hooking the VGA cables up to this particular monitor)?  Anything I should know?  Will the screen look janky since i have to use less than the recommended resolution?

Dang it I missed it too :(  But this is also the reason it's becoming rare that I buy a game on Day 1.  Some of these games drop in price SO FAST.

Save it up for a couple of paychecks to get  a new 22 - 24" wide screen monitor.  I use it to play my 360 and watch tv shows :)

This.  If you can't purchase it in anyway that benefits the developer or publisher than go for the download.

Edit: typo on can -> can't

Dawn of Sorrow FTW.  Follows the Symphony of The Night formula pretty closely.  I'm playing through Order of Ecclesia at the moment and it is good as well.
