@ch3burashka: As has been stated by Mike, the only legal way is a physical copy and if you do end up getting a physical copy, I've heard the goty version works fine on 64 bit operating systems, but the original version does not, I used BuckoA51's installer from this forum to get my original copy to work.

@macka1080: I can't recommend it enough. I agree on the lack of spy games too, so I'm pulling for Rockstar to go back to Agent instead of another GTA or Red Dead.

@theht: I'm not alone! I definitely don't do it with every game either, and I especially try to avoid it in RPGs where it seems like cheating.

@slag: Ah, I forgot about that term. Yeah, it's basically the same idea, although slightly different that I invent my own failstates, making the game harder rather than easier.

In regards to the souls series, which is among my favorites, even the idea of bonfires in going to Dark Souls from Demon's Souls was something that worried me. In the end that didn't backfire, but games like that are great examples of games where quick save doesn't fit.

#6  Edited By morecowbell24

My two most recent reviews have disappeared from my review page.

They are still on the site and still appear in my summary page.

The tab also shows I've written 19 reviews, but only 17 show up. The missing reviews from the list are for Target Earth and Star Wars Republic Commando.

I can still edit them.

I can now recommend them in addition to the automatic recommendation.

When I click on any review of mine it, the site says I've written 17 reviews and that my last one was for Target Earth, one of the missing reviews.

My average rating shows 17 numbers

They do not show up in either grid or the list format.

In my summary it shows the dates I wrote the reviews were in September, both reviews show the correct dates within the review itself.

I disabled some extensions and tried a different browser, same result.

That's all I can see that may or may not be relevant to the issue. Just noticed it today. If it's magically fixed without a reply here, I'll be sure to post back anyway.

EDIT: My Target Earth Review is back from after entering the edit mode or recommending it, I don't know which. I entered the edit mode but did not submit anything. I will try to repeat the same thing with the Republic Commando review.

EDIT 2: Upon recommending my review again they both appear to be fixed and back in the list. So the issue appears to be resolved. I'll leave this post here in case you guys would like to look into it at all.

@stinger061: I like your point about what Rockstar could be working on next. Almost always when a company goes dark, people just speculate and hope for a sequel (Go back to Agent please Rockstar). I definitely agree with you. It's a damned shame that this is the way it is and likely to stay.

@whitegreyblack: I certainly thought about bringing other mediums into my post. Directors of movies is more of what came to mind for me. Movie directors have really long careers though, so while it's easy to expect every movie from Scorcese to be a crime movie like Goodfellas or The Departed, he's directed stuff like Shutter Island, Raging Bull and The Aviator as well.

@slag: I thought about mentioning Kojima, and I probably should have given recent events. Your second point is definitely on point. There are plenty of reasons to make the same game.

I think it's something that's okay to be nervous about, but if they change things and there is an immediate and immense outcry those changes will likely be reversed anyway. Fighting games are a lot more technical than my examples, but even so I think developers should constantly be looking for ways to shift the metas of their games, to avoid the Fox dilemma Smash has, especially if a game is aims to be a spectator sport. If every game is Fox vs Fox or Fox vs Falco (who is basically Fox in Smash anyway), what is the fun in watching (for the spectators) and playing (for the pros) that? Obviously Melee is a really old game at this point and won't be patched, but I think it's a great example of a meta game stagnating.

@corevi: Ah, that's right, I remember that now, my mistake
