If you download this, can you still cancel a pre-order? When I first heard they were making a new Hitman game, I was absolutely certain that I wanted it so the pre-order seemed obvious. At the moment, I'm a whole lot less certain about this and I don't want to get burned like I did with Max Payne 3..
I have an original 'fat' 360 elite, and for a few months now I've had this problem that if I close the tray without there being a disk in the tray then it has a real bad time trying to open the tray again. I press the button and it goes 'clunk-clunk' and doesn't open, and trying to open it from the dashboard doesn't work either. Standing it up or laying it down seemed to help before, but doesn't any more - now I have to jam a knife in there and pry the tray open, and I'm real worried I might damage some gears or something permanently.
If there's a disk in there, then there's no problem. My 'solution' has just been to remember to always leave a disk in the tray at all times, but whenever I have friends over I usually forget to warn them and they try to be super helpful and put 360 games back into correct case when they're done and all I can do is run forwards in slow motion saying "NOOOOOoooooo" as the empty tray closes.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any way to fix this? I've had this machine a while now and it's way out of warranty.
I'm about to decide on an SSID and I am as frozen as I am at a character creation screen. I've been trying to come up with some video game related SSID names, in particular basing it off the names of fictional communication networks or A.I in video games. I think I'd prefer a video game communication network or protocol, but I'm struggling to remember many of them (except for Robco Industries Termlink Protocols from Fallout and Extranet from Mass Effect).
Failing that, well known video game radio stations (like Galaxy News Radio) would probably also make for a good SSID..
Failing that, the name of some A.I that communicates with you (like Cortana, GLaDOS, Legion, Eliza Cassan) might also be good..
But first and foremost, does anyone remember names of communication networks (like 'future internets') in video games?
My absolute dream job would be to be a video game programmer.
I'm a scientist at the moment, and do a lot of programming in the realm of simulation and calculation of electromagnetic resonances and that's all fine and dandy.. but it's pretty boring from a programming perspective. I'd absolutely love to be a video game programmer, but I'm keeping my expectations in check and going to keep video game programming purely as a hobby for probably the foreseeable future.
I'm not going to quit my day job to leap into the games industry, and I'd tentatively suggest you shouldn't either.
My girlfriend likes to watch me play games, so headsets are not really an option. I already have a fairly nice pair of Sennheiser wireless headphones, but I don't really use them much. I'd like a sound system that is good for movies and games, but my primary interest is games.
