My 10 Favorite Games EVER.

List items

  • This game should be on every single person's favorite list. If you've never played it, you're doing yourself a terrible disservice. And if you just don't like it, well then I'm sorry but there is nothing that can be done for you. As a child the color characters, power-ups and intense battles against friends are what had me playing til 7 or 8 in the morning. As an adult I appreciate the simplicity, the nostalgia scratching music and the way the game allows me to destroy any opponent. Of all the games on this list, this is the one currently gets played the most. You know what? Fuck this stupid list. I'm going to go play Super Mario Kart.

  • When I got my SNES it came with this and Super Mario Kart packed in. I was an only child so I played this one much more than Kart. This is a perfect platformer. Dozens of secret exits, levels and Yoshis kept me playing this game over and over and over again. One of the only games that I will sit down and play in it's entirety to this very day. I love this game so much. If it wasn't for the ability to play Mario Kart with my wife and kiddos, this would without a doubt be in my number one spot on this list.

  • My favorite dead genre is the stealth game. I have this game to thank for that. Sneaking around and choking dudes out was the coolest thing I had ever done in a video game. Epic cut scenes and unique boss battles made this game so much more different than the other games of it's generation. The feeling of being a bad ass super spy is what made me play through this over and over again. I actually played the 3rd game in the series a bit more than this one. But this has remained my go to Metal Gear when I'm in a cigarette smoking, stealth suit wearing, giant robot destroying mood. Who's foot prints are these?

  • I was 12 when this came out. It devoured mine and all of my friend's lives. Even though I still play every proper Pokemon release, this one will always be my absolute favorite. I had the red version and chose Bulbasaur as my starter. I replay it on a regular basis. I remember playing this on my original GameBoy in 12th grade algebra(well after the system's prime). Probably not the most popular of gaming choices but whatever man. I had a Nidoking who needed some grinding. Looking at the images for this game does nothing but bring back fond memories.

  • The first competitive shooter I ever played online. But before I jumped into matchmaking it was my friend and wife's (then girlfriend) go to for splitscreen or system linking. Some of my best memories are playing on Lockout,Headlong & Ivory Tower. Many a sleepless night can be attributed to Halo 2. Of course I was actually pretty good back then.

  • I admit that the first isn't as goo of a game as ME2, the first is my favorite because it introduced me to what is currently my favorite video game fiction. Exploring the Citadel and reading about how the elcor's language is spoken in such low frequencies that their true names can't be heard by human ears are what drew me in. I really hope Bioware does more with this universe now that the trilogy is over.

  • Ocarina of Time is to me, the perfect video game. Not many other games evoke the feeling of embarking on a grand adventure like this one. Pair that with excellent combat and you've got what is arguably the best video game of all time. This probably would've been higher on my list had I played it when it was released. Unfortunately I didn't play this until about a couple of years after the GameCube launched. That being said this game still blew me away, out dated graphics and all. A tell tale sign of a timeless game. And that's exactly what it is.

  • I miss playing Animal Crossing. I had more money than I knew what to do with. The biggest house that bells can buy. My neighbors were ducks and cats. And when I spoke to them the Imperial March would play using different instruments. I was probably a little too into Animal Crossing. Well over 100 hours were spent fishing, gardening, fossil collecting and tending to weeds in a little town I named Kanto. Both my wife and I were absolutely obsessed with this game when she was pregnant with out first daughter. There were a handful of days that were spent laying in bed playing our two copies of this from dusk to dawn. No joke.
