Either Freeverse Skee-Ball or Eliss. Tough to say.

Adult Swim has been cranking out awesome flash games for quite some time now, but I think they just topped themselves with Robot Unicorn Attack

No Caption Provided
It's basically Canabalt (or Tomena Sanner, if you will) with Lisa Frank graphics and the perfect soundtrack by Erasure. My high-score is somewhere around 16k, so I'm sure someone around here can do better. Go forth and press "Z" to make your dreams come true!

Well, Polysics is pretty much the best live band on the planet, so I'll have to go with them. They even sound better live, which is pretty freaky considering how complex their sound can get.

" The original is the best TR game ever made, period. The Last Revelation is a close second, though. "
This is exactly what I came to post. It's unfortunate that the Tomb Raider series had already been run into the ground by sub-par sequels by the time The Last Revelation came out because it was definitely the best of the original sequels. It's almost as if Core didn't realize what made the original such a great experience: the sense of isolation, discovery and clever puzzles, while Tomb Raider II and III focused on the worst parts of the original, while adding some other bad new additions.

The emphasis on human enemies (even in the recent games, the gun battles aren't at all interesting), wonky vehicle sections and non-mystical locales (You went to Area 51 in Tomb Raider III. That's the shark jump) really wore the series down. The Last Revelation was a noble effort to throw the series back to its roots but it wasn't until Anniversary that I think it finally clicked.

The real problem with the Tomb Raider series is Lara herself: she's just not an interesting character and the designers are so quick to turn her into some sort of super hero (or Mary Sue to be more obvious) and it throws any humanity the character could contain right out the window.

Ok, end Tomb Raider rant :)

"Prefrably exclusive titles or ones which are substantially better on Saturn (for example I beleive Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has extra areas).
Noooooooooooo!

I could tell you everything that makes the Saturn version terrible, but I'll let this episode of Retronauts do it for me.

Honestly, there are very few Saturn games I would actually recommend these days, but if you really want to spend some money on the collection, I'd go with..

Guardian Heroes - Never got ported elsewhere, still a fun beat-em-up and the GBA sequel was really bad.
Dragon Force - Again, never got ported, still a pretty decent strategy title. It's still a lot of fun seeing hundreds of sprites on the screen.
Nights - Still very unique and the sequel wasn't as good.

Also, do yourself a favor and knock the arcade titles off your list, namely Virtua Cop and Daytona USA. Not only were these bad ports, but in the case of Virtua Cop ... I really don't think you want to play this. Sometimes, nostalgia is a lot more valuable than the real deal :)

So what if it was taken off at EVO 2010, that isn't a reflection of the games quality. With new more worthy additions in the line up, I imagine they had to.

That's not excuse enough. Tekken 5 was played at EVO even when Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection was widely available in arcades. Why? Because unlike Calamity Trigger, vanilla Tekken 5 was still a competitive game. EVO has no problems playing the older version of a game if there's still interest but quite frankly, no one wanted to play CT. It speaks volumes when even the dedicated fans of the games had to raise hell to prevent it from taking the main stage, Continuum Shift or not.

Listen, if you don't want to have a serious discussion as to why Calamity Trigger was a bad game despite IGN (o wowz) telling you otherwise, tell me right now. I'll leave you to your numbers, but don't sit there and insult me and tell me that I'm brown-nosing despite demonstrating far more knowledge about the subject at hand.

" I would disregard the above review totally if I were you, I would instead look at one of the many other sources that rated the game highly, as it deserved to be rated.

As it deserved to be rated? For someone who seems to care a whole lot about other people's opinions on Calamity Trigger, I honestly wonder if you even play it. The game was awful ... the fighting game community knew it, the Guilty Gear community knew it and that's why no one plays it.  Hell, CT was so bad that suddenly GGXX:AC, a game that people thought was largely dead after EVO last year got a short-lived lift.

It was a sloppy mess of a first effort filled with exploits and one of the most unbalanced casts in recent memories (there are no tiers in CT. There is god tier and garbage tier). Calamity Trigger was also recently pulled from EVO 2010 as even the BB/GG players on Shoryuken didn't want to see it played on the main stage and it'll most likely get pulled from Devastation, too. This is the first game in more than 5 years that a game has been pulled from EVO because it wasn't up to the task of competitive play (Capcom Fighting Evolution, 2004).

Now, fortunately for you, Continuum Shift is actually decent (and I should know since I'm surrounded by BB:CS machines). The BlazBlue community is getting behind it with regular tournaments and while the vast majority of them were upset they had to completely relearn the game (Every character received major changes) and there are still balance issues (ARC's method of balancing their games is to make the best into the worst and vice versa until they get it right.. so it'll take a few more updates), it's still an infinitely superior game compared to Calamity Trigger.

If there is one genre of games that you should ignore pretty much all reviews of, its fighting games. With the exception of Jeff and one of two others, there is no one in the press who is seriously up to the task and most essentially review fighting games with whatever the narrative is at the time. Virtua Fighter games are great examples.. these some of the most complex video games (forget fighting) around ... do you really think the people reviewing them with perfect scores even had the slightest idea how to do anything even remotely advanced? Probably not.

The media narrative for Calamity Trigger was that it was a "hardcore game" for "hardcore fighting fans" when it turns out those hardcore fans had already shunned the game months ago. I read reviews for the game and I wonder if there's some joke I missed out on at the time.

You can enjoy CT all you want, that's fine. I enjoy Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and most people think that's garbage too. But believe me when I say that Jeff was ultimately on the money.

Any flash game? My suggestion would be to check out Kongregate as they always have a bunch of interesting games and it ties into a greater community. There's also Facebook games to look into and really, anything by PlayFish is great. Flash games also aren't limited to little bite-sized experiences and its very easy to get console-like experience by stepping up to browser games like QuakeLive, InstantAction and FreeRealms
