I don't think this is really me being a grammar nazi, but please don't write every word starting with a capital it's pretty obnoxious.

Onto your point, every person determines the value they get from the game they buy. As long as those games you're distressed about are selling well then the publishers/developers putting them out will continue on with the practice. Seriously the place where it hurts those publishers the most and the worst is their wallets. There's almost no way around it. For example look at Bethesda, they get to put out incredibly janky games time after time after time yet they sell so well thus able to get away with it. I guarantee you that if Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, or any popular annualized series took a big hit to their sales numbers and couldn't make back what they spent on the development then they would probably change up their game plan. Generally speaking publishers are into making money even if sometimes it's not consumer friendly.

@hotspray: Man the bitterness in your post...

But to be honest, I have felt the same exact thing as you. The story to me was so bad that it really killed any type of momentum I had. If the story was at least halfway decent and Bethesda actually could learn from how other developers i.e. Bioware, Obsidian, Telltale, etc. handle choice based stories maybe just maybe I would've actually bothered to finish the game. I may have overlooked all the other deficiencies of the game. I'm with you, I don't even understand how it's so awful and it's sad because I really wanted to like the game after what they showed at E3.

From what I understand it's just Gamestop's policy towards games with DLC codes even when the package has been sealed. Trust me the employees most of the time know the policy sucks and trade-ins are pretty terrible. Anything with DLC codes is hard to trade-in regardless if the package is sealed. They don't know if somehow the package had been resealed and/or the DLC code has been used.

You could talk to the manager or assistant manager sometimes they might bend the rules for you one time, but most likely their hands are tied since it would be company policy.

I'm enjoying it so far. Watched the first 4 episodes on SyFy's site and I was going to say that the one thing I didn't like initially were Thomas Jane's character looks and the UN lady's story arc. As I got to episode 4 I felt things were starting to build up a little better and the UN's arc felt more intriguing while Thomas Jane's character arc seemed kind of disjointed. Holden's story arc in my opinion is the most interesting with the most things happening in it so far.

@mooseymcman: The funny thing is that you can shoot their arms and legs off and they'll be staring at you like the black knight from Monty Python The Holy Grail.

I already wrote my piece on it, but the main quest in Fallout 4 continues the trend of main quests in Bethesda games not being the reason you play them, though I think this one is especially bad. Enough so that I put the game down and never really picked it up again after seeing what passed for an ending monologue. It was hardly my only problem, but it was enough to kill any momentum I still had.

After reading about the ending and how people felt about it, I quit shortly after I shot Father in the head. It was like dropping the mic moment for me. This is the aftermath of what greeted me as I went back to the teleporter room.

Knowing how the story was going to end up was enough for me to call quits. I could not take this story to the end knowing that there was no reasonable choice and I was going to be forced to choose some arbitrary choice that I could not back.

Was playing Fallout 4, I got really sick and tired of it faster than any other Bethesda game. I enjoyed the exploration as always, just the lack of polish killed it for me. I did put like 140 hours so I guess good job Bethesda, but not really.

Played the Overwatch beta until it closed. Had a great time with the game cannot wait to see what they add/change and it will probably be a day one purchase for me. They announced all future heroes and maps will be free so that's pretty awesome.

Right now I've been mostly playing SC2 LotV and playing the ladder. The game is so much faster now, but feels really fresh. Probably my multiplayer game of the year so far. Then again, I've always loved SC2 since Brad talked about it so much back in 2010 and stuff.

Feel like a Blizzard shill right now especially seeing who necro'd this thread... :/

Mario has to win.

Then Fallout-tie-bloodborne

and Metal gear

I would be very very surprised if Fallout is in top 3 let along top 5. Vinny said he already had enough of the game since it felt so similar to 3 and New Vegas. Jeff is done with the lack of polish those games have. I'm pretty sure Alex would not back it being top 3. The only ones who I could potentially see pushing it into the top 3 is Brad and Austin, but even they, I wager, would concede that this would not be in GB's top 3. I could be totally wrong, but I just don't see the level of support Brad gave Skyrim back then when Jeff vehemently argued that SR3 should be GotY not Skyrim.

Other than that I think Mario Maker is probably going to be this year's GotY with MGSV in 2nd or 3rd despite how much the FOB is souring their post experience.

Man, why did this old thread get bumped? Now I can't unsee Princess Brad up there.

I think the only logical solution now is to photoshop the rest of the Giant Bomb staff like female Brad.
