A dense fucking game that I respect the hell out of. Spelunky has procedurally generated levels, tight controls, a wealth of items and secrets, and countless ways to die. It's probably not for everyone but it has become one of my favorite games, up there with Dark Souls and Super Mario World. Also, it was released on PSN in 2013 so I'm not cheating, hah.

Kinda cheating that I put Chronicles here but since I have yet to play Celceta (I'm working on them based on the order of the canon)it mostly represents me finding a new series to love. I live JRPG's but these days most of the combat systems bore the living hell out of me. Ys games have a lightning fast pace to them with great environments, but what probably grabs me the most are the tunes of Falcom JDK and the 80's/90's anime style.

Played through the compelling story, I liked that the game didn't really hold back any punches and was willing to step on some toes. Game is admittedly a bit too pandering to the typical 18-34 male crowd,(since the series is so well known I would love to see some themes being pushed) but I snuck up on a deer and punched it in the ass.

In my weird taste this is the best Metal Gear game as far as gameplay goes.

Great story with an amazing tension to the combat that I haven't noticed since Resident Evil 4.

I beat this game in two sittings and that's no con to me. Great setting for a metroidvania with with an engaging combo system and quirky sense of humor (though at times the humor is a bit too "internet")

Really solid game, but I don't really feel compelled to write much here. It's a Zelda game with great puzzles/dungeons/music. The Lorule stuff was neat though.

Plays really well on consoles and has that great Blizzard aesthetic and polish. It's shamelessly a loot crawler so if you have a problem with those then Diablo 3 is not for you.

I'm sure there's a more deserving game I could put here, but I enjoy me some goofy shit. The combat ain't all there but the visuals and batshit story make up for it. You can see Suda has a pretty decent grasp of cinematography too. The limited comes with gigolo glasses that lets you see the ladez undies
