You have your opinions, and I have mine. Capitalism takes all of our purchasing decisions into consideration. So some people like music you don't like, eat food you don't like, or watch movies you don't like. It doesn't make their opinions any less valid.

No, marketing and advertisement are simply a means of disseminating information. Surely people are not so weak willed as to have their opinions, their very thoughts, shaped by such messages?

Are you serious? Even with my little Marketing Management minor I can tell you that everything is about shaping public opinion about a product. As a Graphic Designer I can guarantee that designs are made a particular way to catch the eye and attract attention despite the quality of the actual product.

I think his point was that they do help push people in a certain direction, but they don't make the decisions for us. We still make the conscious decision to consume product A, even if it is assisted by subliminal things via marketing and what not.

I am so glad that I can enjoy movies for being movies. I appreciate and understand people who are critics and can nitpick a movie, but to me I just go for enjoyment. If it was a bad movie oh well, if it was good then great.

I haven't played Journey yet so I won't comment on how good it may be, but I can understand why people wouldn't vote for it. Just like many people claim the Walking Dead isn't a true "game", Journey seems to be more of an experience than a game, in whatever people want to define it as.

Such a great movie. Especially that scene with the James Brown/Tupac song playing.

Sure you could. Diablo 3 is has worse story, worse characters, worse graphics, and I would even argue worse gameplay and worse multiplayer but that is a subjective opinion. Not to mention D3 is nothing but a grindfest after you beat the short story.

Alien lifeforms. Or Video Games, whichever you prefer. You're assuming everything is in context with our knowledge of the universe. That everything works based on our physics. Who is to say that the reapers don't excrete a goo that coats their exoskeleton which diffuses light at long distances?

Quick question regarding all this PC building:

Will a GeForce GTX 660 run current and imminent PC games with max settings? (And I mean the big games: Sleeping Dogs, Far Cry 3, Metro 2033, etc.) Or would a 670/680 be needed?

The only thing that ruins the experience for me is when I reverse hollow so I can kindle a bonfire or so I can summon phantoms to help, but on my way to the boss/next area I get invaded by someone with the best gear possible against my generic non-leveled stuff. Half the time I'll just kindle a bonfire and then go die to nearest enemy on purpose, just so I cant get invaded.

I wish they would either implement a way to have better "matchmaking" per-say, or a way to turn off invasions completely. I understand it is a risk/reward of going human, but to me I don't want to play the game for PvP.
