+1 to AnimeZero's newegg link. alot of those cards will do their job well for gaming. i personally own a geforce 9600 GSO (branded EVGA though) and it plays games quite well in spite of it being considered a budget card...although now with games like Dragon Age Origins, the card is now starting to show it's age.4 days, 7 hours ago

if i recall, there were a good amount of Silent Hill games that were released on PC. that latest one, Silent Hill Homecoming, was ported to PC as well. i've yet to try out a single SH game though, but those might be good options for you.4 days, 7 hours ago

o lawd. the frying pan is awesome. i love the clanging sound effect when you hit a zombie. but yeah when you get to expert mode, you'll probably might want to keep a pistol on-hand to "snipe" with it. it's just way too risky using a melee weapon and getting close to zombies unless you have a chainsaw...which we've all yet to experience.4 days, 7 hours ago

as i understand it, the demo is live for EVERYONE now. just play it, devise your OWN review of the game, buy if you like...pass up if you don't. although yes i do agree that people who aren't already planning on buying the game are getting screwed over, specifically XBOX Live users who AREN'T gold members.4 days, 7 hours ago

pc gamers having a free ride? -_- considering the PC hardcore audience build their own gaming PC's with video cards alone that cost just as much as a next-gen console, i hardly think PC gamers will want to have the urge to pay console-based prices for games we want. yes game development does grow, but look at how successful Valve's games are; priced at the typical 49.99USD pc game price ...2 weeks, 4 days ago

anyone else getting fed up with all this BS with apple claiming they can overtake the DS/PSP? don't get me wrong...after having had a chance to play around with my friend's jailbroken Ipod Touch, it seems like it would work as the "next generation" of casual gaming; what with the whole tilt sensor doohickey. it's commendable that there is a considerable user-base of iphone/touch users who actually download games for their multitasking portable, but what percentage of games are actually FUN on the system?
PSP:
- god of war chains of olympus
- crisis core ff7
- dj max fever (along with the original korean imports)
- lumines 1 and 2
- patapon 1 and 2
- daxter
- and now the upcoming assassin's creed, motorstorm, little big planet, rock band portable
all the above being examples of games that will never be pulled off on an iphone/touch unless drastically changed or dumbed-down.
i won't even attempt to list all the good games that are available on DS. suffice it to say, there's a chance some DS games could possibly be pulled off on an iphone/touch...but the fact that the iphone/touch doesn't have a d-pad or face buttons will be it's downfall IF apple ever considers going one on one against 2 portable gaming systems that have made their mark on the whole gaming community.
