For the record, this studio spent 1.2 million from the Canadian Media Fund for this game and raised a kickstarter for another 334k, not to mention whatever tax credits Quebec offers (Something like 40% of employees salaries).
Then Microsoft purchased them.
This studio, this game, that sale is exactly what is wrong with the industry.
@dya: Yeah, I haven't been watching a lot of GB lately because it seems like Ben is the only QL person, likely a perception problem on my part, but wow, he really didn't know how to properly explain this game.
Granted, it seems like a game that's all over the map, but dude, prepare a little before recording.
Man this is the first GB video I've watched in maybe months and Jeff's apathy and cynicism reminded me partly why I haven't watched a lot of GB lately.
Dude, if you don't want to do this or you're not interested in the game, just don't be in the video.
Jesus christ, the FOV is for maniacs and xenomorphs. Between that and the speed, this looks nauseating to play, even if the graphics have a nice feel to them.
Also, for the warhammer folks discussing the whole fantasy to space thing; I'm sure it's an interesting subject, but the rest of us don't care. It has the same name, one name suggests its in the future, and they both have goblins or whatever in it.
Something bothers me about Abby’s resistance on an easy solution to the bathrooms and her insistence that “it’s the ladies room!” On a lot of different levels.
One of those being is it felt like a very selfish Dan-ism.
@redic: Ha! I literally became premium when Dave wanted to make a Dwarf Fortress series. I was sad when that didn't happen, but kept the premium because it made sense back then.
I will admit Dan was tolerable in this but he was also kind of coddled to high heaven.
He got to play 'himself' and they literally imbued his personality with action movie cliches. That's like setting the game to 'very easy'. A real test to see if he gets it is to actually play someone else entirely which I sincerely doubt he could do in a fun way.
I love that this is still a thing but I'm sort of torn on this latest entry. Loved the story happening but I don't recall anyone actually speaking in-character (possibly to not confuse Dan?) and Alex didn't get to do anything. Thanks for this, here's hoping for a definitive conclusion in the near future.
Doesn't seem to offer much of anything new to the genre. Arbitrary doomsday clock is kind of weird and forced to offer any sort of "something" to the game.
