I'm not surprised, EviLore has been a scumbag for years. Shame he seems to be taking the site down with him. Ah well, here's the the GB forums and the Waypoint forms being more active!

@an_ancient: Yep, those types of testers are usually called Dev testers, or given specific titles based on their roles; metrics testers, audio testers, and so on. I have a friend who did audio integration testing and was able to transition into an integration engineer with the experience he got. Those types of opportunities are very few and far between though.

Best of luck, Austin. Giant Bomb was all the better for the awareness of diversity and inclusiveness you brought to the site. We're all excited to see what you do next.

Interested in a 1070 or an RX 480 and an XONE S for backcompat stuff.

I'm not sure that console gaming is "dead" - there are plenty of people who will pick up Scorpio who have no interest in PC building. I'm all for giving consumers more options.

I was mulling this possibility over. Do you think there was supposed to be a big reveal that needed to be replaced at the last minute? It feels super weird to end the show on

gameplay from the second game to be revealed.

Seriously, I can't shake that something should have gone where that last segment was.

I figured it out when I saw the "Press LS to launch Raptor" or whatever thing.

Man, I liked SO MUCH about that Sony presser, but I feel like the lack of presenters on the stage caused it to fall apart after the VR block. It needed a few people to move things along between sections.

I've been kicking around the idea of writing up some stories of my (extensive) time in QA. Seriously, I have like 3 years at a third-party testers, and a year and a bit at Eidos Montreal (Where most of the SBF dudes worked, actually).

At their best, QA is treated as a second class of employee with few benefits, sick days, vacation days, and mandatory overtime that cannot be converted to vacation. There are also blocks in place to prevent QA testers from advancing in the company, in some places. It's very much full of eager, fresh-faced people looking to break into design or other fields, only to be chewed up and spit out by the machine. It's why I got out, and am now looking to get back in as something other than a QA tester.

I thought Titanfall 2 looked pretty ace. Singleplayer can go very bad or very good, depending. I liked the premise that I saw, and the gameplay looked fantastic.

I thought Fe looked pretty neat, and was impressed by the fact that EA is taking a role as an indie publisher without taking a huge cut of the profits.

Battlefield 1 looked....Like a Battlefield game. The true "high"lights for me, though, were the stream of celebs they got on camera. Seeing Zac Efron and Jamie Foxx blazed out of their skulls, and Snoop with a lit joint in his mouth is pretty peak E3 for me. Now here's to hoping Ubisoft is cringey and awkward so I can have my full E3 experience this year.

Asking because I fall into this category, hard. I've been following the site for a long while now; (I don't post much, though.) back to the days where I was seriously considering games writing as a career. Things didn't pan out as I'd hoped, so I put games-related stuff on the back burner to become a Boring Office Guy. I'm hesitant to submit a pitch because the guest contributors so far have a level of pedigree that I don't. I mean, I've applied to RPS, The Escapist, and Kotaku for news writing positions, but I was never able to make the cut.

I know I have stories to tell, and something to contribute to discussions about games, but now that I'm 30, it feels like I'm yelling into a bottomless pit.

Is there consideration for people like me, or will someone who's had a bunch of freelance columns published at Kotaku and the like always be at an advantage over someone who's never had their break?
