One of best games of this gen I've played so far.

  • Score: 8/10

Alex Garland needs to write for more videogames. Amazing experience, even if the controls were a bit clunky at times.

  • Score: 8/10

The new take on the Tomb Raider series is a fucking fun as hell success in my book. I'd love to see more Lara Croft adventures like this.

  • Score: 8/10

It's been awhile since a JRPG actually held my interest. Fun combat, charming world, and lack of long-winded chatter will do that I guess.

  • Score: 7.5/10

Quirky platform/puzzler with interesting world-rotating mechanics, momentum physics, and blending of music.

  • Score: 7.5/10

Don't really know what the hell was going on, but it's never a dull moment with angry Kratos.

  • Score: 7.5/10

Crazy ass platforming with death around every corner. Love it.

  • Score: 7.5/10

Got it for $20...very pleased! The latter stages sorta stagnated in terms of stealth gameplay and turned into more of an all-out 3rd person shooter.

  • Score: 7.5/10

If Robert Rodriguez's movies were videogames...

  • Score: 7.5/10

Love letter to old-school beat 'em ups with homages galore. Absolute kickass soundtrack to boot.

  • Score: 7/10

Great game at the core, but does everything it can to piss you off with stupid fetch-quests, arena battles, and a never-ending portal dungeon.

  • Score: 7/10

Clearly a labor of love through and through.

  • Score: 7/10

Classic Mega Man is back!

  • Score: 7/10

My Bison still sucks. I need more practice.

  • Score: 7/10

An intense, adrenaline-pumping ride from start to finish, but damn that final boss was a bitch and a half.

  • Score: 7/10

Giant Spider = best boss of the year?

  • Score: 6.5/10

Not a big fan of the GTA-sandbox kind of games, but this is one of my favorites of that genre. Great music pieces that really stamped certain moments into my mind (like entering Mexico for the first time).

  • Score: 6.5/10

Not quite a return to Sonic 1-3, S&K glory, but it's getting closer. The new physics were a mess, but it's still an enjoyable experience once you get down the handling.

  • Score: 6.5/10

Some interesting stuff they've added here with the assassin recruits and not to mention that ingenious multiplayer mode. I just wish they focused some more time getting the controls right.

  • Score: 6.5/10

Yep, I'm still playing Pokemon games after all these years. And with what I've seen of Black/White, that trend will probably continue.

  • Score: 6/10

Neat clone puzzles that are reminiscent of Clank's temporal tasks in A Crack In Time. I dig the whole classic silent film vibe and it's got orgasmic music.

  • Score: 6/10

I loved the level design...so friggin' cute. It was a fun diversion, but I think making it faster and more challenging would've helped me stay engaged more.

  • Score: 6/10

First Halo game I've played (hey, better late than never, right?). Most of the finer winks and nods are probably lost on me, but I did enjoy the ending. Poignant stuff.

  • Score: 5.5/10

All kinds of disappointing. The battle system has promise, but I just couldn't stand the stupid characters and the boring story. Took way too long getting underway.

  • Score: 5.5/10

WELCOME TO DIE!

  • Score: 5.5/10

A bit of a turd. The camera is absurdly bad, the combat is so bland (but then again, I was spoiled by God of War 3 earlier in the year), nothing about the story or the way it's presented keeps me engaged, there's stupid glitches, the platforming is flat out terrible...ugh.

  • Score: 5.5/10

I only finished Sonic's story mode. It has it's moments, but the controls and camera angles are so dreadful that I don't really want to go back for more.

  • Score: 5.5/10

Controls are everything for me when it comes to platformers, and unfortunately, the shitty wiimote+nunchuck just doesn't cut it.

  • Score: 5/10

Decent platformer, but the camera angles can be atrocious and flat-out ruin the fun.

  • Score: 5/10

My first venture into the Layton series. It delivers some interesting brain teasers to kill some time and an overarching story to give it purpose.

  • Score: 4/10

It was okay for an hour or two. Not the kind of game that sticks with me.

  • Score: 4/10

Only played an hour or so of it, and it seems very 'meh'. I preferred Scott Pilgrim and Shank a lot more when it came to beat-'em-ups this year.

  • Score: 4/10

Only played an hour or so, but I didn't get the laughs it promised. Plus, the combat was very blah and I can barely see what the hell was getting hit half the time.

  • Score: 1/10

The singleplayer campaign's quite possibly the worst thing I've ever played. Although I gotta admit the last level was pretty cool.

I'm nitpicking here, but technically Mass Effect 2 is in the current generation, not "next-gen". Just saying...
