Without a doubt, my most dissapointing game of 2008 was UFC 2009 Undisputed. While I could fill up vast amounts of space in this thread describing the many shortcomings of this game, if you wanted to see that you could just jump to my review; here.
The main draw of the Assassin's Creed series is that they feature famous historical settings, both in time and place. While I do believe that the next game will feature more action in the 'present', I doubt they will abandon their tried and true method of jumping back and forth. If I was to put money on it, I would say that the warring states period in Japan would be the most fitting. How can you possibly have a game with the word assassin in the title and not have one game about ninjas? Also, if you remember, there were lots of hints toward a Japanese setting in the end of the first game's wall cyphers.
@crunchUK: Thanks. For some reason that announcers voice is so bad to me. I seemed to just ignore most of the things he said at the beginning when he was talking at every menu. He seemed so forced into overdoing the accent or something.
