Honestly, if you want to get good cards, do not buy booster packs to obtain them. The "cheapest" way to obtain these cards is to trade or buy them as single cards. Never open boosters in hopes to open a specific card.
That said, if you're just going to be playing with your friends casually and not at a game store, you do not need to go buy single cards that cost $20 a copy. You'll have a good time with intro decks, event decks, and the toolkits. Magic isn't fun when one of you spent $400 on your deck and the other person didn't.
25. The amount of armor you are currently wearing does not matter if an assassin has killed a person close to you within the last 2 seconds. Unless you are an important npc.
