@veektarius: You're right about Dishonored. I haven't played it yet, but I thinks that says a lot about it. Something about it the game play videos makes me not want to play it, but hey, I should give it a chance I guess. Ill definitely try Arcanum though.
@IkariNoTekken You're right. This sites are good for finding online buddies, yet sometimes you end up talking to people through this kinds of sites for so long, with out even realizing that they live closer to you than you think. I once met some guys through half life 2's multiplayer modes. It was fun for a while. But I later realized that they weren't into games. They just enjoyed getting together, and playing that one game. The drive to their meet up spot wasn't that long, but I decided to stop once I had my fill on Half life 2 death match games.
As for college. I get what you said. I sometimes feel the drag of a monotonous routine of waking up, going to school to do the same things, come home, do lots of homework and work out if I have the time. Playing games only happens, if it does happen, on the weekends.
@IkariNoTekken Sounds like a great college experience. I'm an engineering student who has very few geeky friends. Even at school. You would think that being among a bunch of aspiring engineers you would find a lot of people who are into games, you'd think so... yet I have no gamer friends aside from my brother... I'm lucky to have him though(:
@Sparklykiss You and your sister. That's cool. I've only meet one gamer girl in my life, we used to be coworkers. We got along great, but after quitting I never saw her again. I always try to get the girl I'm dating to game, but they just fake a little interest in it so I end up not doing it again, I get it though since we ended up dating for other reasons. That's what most guys want, someone to share hobbies with, you'll make a couple of gamer guys very happy(:
@mandude You game with your sister, that's nice. Most people I know get along fine with their's but don't include them in their activities.
@nickb64: I used to know people who were into games like that when we were younger. We grew up and developed tastes for different things. I never stopped liking games though, we still hangout and are still close friends, just no longer talk about games. Sometimes you need to look for people who share your interest else were, and can still remain friends with the ones you have.
@Scrawnto Living far away from your friends is hard.
@Gamer_152 lucky you, and they're even into different games, which opens you up to trying new stuff, that's really cool
@teh_destroyer I think not, but who am I to say
@Slag Yes. Lan partys or simply sitting on the same couch to play with someone. I miss that.
@supamon When I hear that people come to GB for this, I always think of the segment in the Making Of video of Halo 2, where the guys that used to play online all the time meet up once a year to actually know each other. I wonder if the GB community should do something similar(:
