@Catolf: hahaha...with Fenris you can't sleep with anyone else for it to work.  So if in Act II you sleep with Isabel you totally miss out with Fenris.  Also...you HAVE to do Questioning Beliefs BEFORE you do The Bitter Pill quest.  So if you didn't do that it won't work.  You also know that your romance is working if Fenris is wearing a red ribbon around his right wrist and a miniature version of your family crest on his waist.  Fenris is the best!  Anders gets annoying after awhile especially in the end.  My second and third playthrough I romanced Fenris...and on my third playthrough I killed Anders.

Yeah...I did all those things, but the Achievements tab is still claiming that my account is private...

@zyn:@Marz:

Thanks!  I found it...but...I'm not sure how much I need to make public.  I made Profile Sharing,  Profile Viewing, and Game History  for everyone so I'll see if that works :-)

I feel really silly asking this question, but I have not been able to find the information on the xbox live site or via Google...I was trying to sync my xbox live account with "Achievements" in my profile and I received the message that my xbox live account is private.

Anyone know how to change that?  I don't ever recall doing that in the past 4 years I have had this account.

" @Wrighteous86: Again, they've been doing the whole "illusion of choice" since Baldur's Gate. The crazy Chaotic-Evil Wizard (I really can't remember his name for the life of me) survives into the second game regardless of whether or not you stabbed him when he first introduced himself to you or if made it all the way through to the end. I'm not trying to say this is a GOOD move by them or that it's in any way justifiable, what I'm saying is that they've been doing this since the mid-late 90's, ever since the games that people call upon to show how far they've strayed. I'm just trying to say that they haven't really strayed at all. And I, personally, am mostly ok with that as they're telling some of the best stories in videogame history.

Edit: @JoeyRavn: Agreed. They can't account for every single permutation of a game play-through, and frankly it'd be impossible for them to do so. Even when the games were 2D and much, MUCH easier to produce, they still had their own plotline in mind. As much as people carp about the "freedom" of Baldur's Gate 2, guess what? You ALWAYS fight Jon Irenicus. "

 On that point...since they are unable to account for every single permutation, a good assumption to make is that they do not necessarily know what the next version will hold.  I've noted that some people in other posts have implied that Dragon Age will be a trilogy...but that's just not true.  Bioware never stated as such, and have implied that DA will continue (supposedly with a release a year).  That being said, they most likely did not plan or plot an outline to dictate which characters are most important, therefore, defining who shouldn't be killed.  If that is the case, developers wouldn't flag key characters as ok to kill, or not so when a game is imported it doesn't search for those variables.

Don't misunderstand, I too wish that your choices and actions did matter.   I wish that the story itself allowed you to have more of an impact on the story, such as the Qunari war, or being able to talk the Arishok down, particularly if you received the achievement of gaining his respect...or how about the death of your mom... would have been nice to prevent... It also would have been nice if you could have saved Elthina, particularly with the DLC since you could talk her into leaving...although you never know she could still be alive.    Though I understand and respect that they cannot account for every single permutation...a little impact on your part of decisions made would be nice.  I have a feeling they ran out of time...much like their botched dungeons...they just didn't have time to vary the dungeons.

Does anyone else have a problem with Rohok consistently referring to Meredith as the "slut templar"? Was there some kind of side-plot I missed where she was shown to be very promiscuous, or is that just how he refers to women in general? Classy stuff. "
I think that's just how he refers to women in general ;-)

My first game play was well over 40 hours...but I was slow.  I like to talk to everyone, read everything, watch every cut scene, I did every side quest I picked up.
About 30 hours on my second game play and about ~28 hours on my 3rd...of course this means I skipped all conversations and cut scenes (ok...except for my sex ones)...and I mainly did the 3rd because I had purchased DLC and wanted to get the rest of the achievements I had missed.  Oh...and I never read any Codex...

Eh...I don't know...sluts have a certain appeal. "
They fuck. That's gotta be something. "
;-)  Like I said...they have a certain appeal...you barely have to romance her.

" Considering that you can sex roughly half your party, man or woman, I don't consider it an especially great loss to not be able to romance Aveline. She's a good tank and an alright character, but would you really want an awkwardly animated sex scene with her? There's the slutty pirate chick, the wide eyed elf girl (who is also a blood mage), the pathos filled elf man, and the pathos filled possessed mage if you want action.
"
Welll....if you flirt with him enough you have the option to sleep with him...at least I did the first play through.  Except...if you have a romantic interest in your party they tell him off.
