1. The Last of Us
This game is something else! An experience where every moment will stick with you whether good or bad. The incredible story contains memorable and deep characters which is complemented by the gameplay perfectly. The game sets new barriers and heights for games good luck for any developer getting anywhere close to it.
2. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
A truly magical masterpiece! The art and animation by Studio Ghibli is truly breathtaking. One of the best JRPG's out there thanks to the deep and addicting combat with adorable characters you will care about. Stacked with content and every part of it is worth it.
3. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist
l have never played a game with such smooth controls, l know that sounds basic but it really makes the gameplay and combat undeniably fun and the game. It's quite the Splinter Cell package with superb visuals.
4. State of Decay
The idea of State of Decay isn't something new in games but this title refines every element you want in a zombie themed open-world rpg so well. Every moment you lose a character from the zombie horde you'll be heartbroken and gutted but yet be so up for taking on the challenge again.
5. Grand Theft Auto V
l have always wandered what the big deal was with GTA. But after dumping nearly 50 hours into this title it's easy to see why. The games just presents you with so many fun activities and side missions in such a live, detailed open world with awesome, crazy personalities dotted throughout.
6. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
The Assassins Creed series was dead to me after l was burned out once completing Brotherhood but Black Flag had me hooked with its awesome pirate theme and the multiplayer is still as fun as ever.
7. Killzone: Shadow Fall
Killzone is my favourite shooter series of all-time thanks to Killzone 2 & 3. Even though Shadow Fall doesn't live up to those high expectations, it's a great game to kickoff the PS4 and does some new things with the still addicting multiplayer that will have me keep coming back for more.
8. DmC Devil May Cry
The Devil May Cry series just wasn't for me but Ninja Theory have me on board with this reboot. All the elements of a great character action game are here, whether it's the fun multiple combo combat, the unique art style or a badass main character.
9. Thomas Was Alone
What a little gem this game is. Yes, the characters in this game are basic 2D shapes but with some fun puzzling gameplay and fantastic dialogue from the narrator you fall in love with Tom and his friends.
10. Resident Evil: Revelations
The future of the Resident Evil series could be bright. Capcom blends the horror and shooter elements very well in this title even if that isn't the case as the games goes on. l hope they take the fundamentals from this game into the next game and build from there.
