Games Looking Forward to in 2010

This is a list of the main games that I'm looking forward to for next year (2010).  This list only includes games that I'm really looking forward to, not games that I'm just mildly interested (some examples of the latter might be Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll or Metroid: Other M).  As new games that I'm interested in get announced, I'll update this list.

List items

  • These two games are at the top of my "most wanted" list for next year (yes, I plan on getting both). The original Pokemon Gold/Silver were definitely in my "top 3" list of favorite games, and Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver appear to be worthy upgrades to the original along with appearing to be the "ultimate" Pokemon games.

  • I first became a Kirby fan with Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland on the GBA. While no other Kirby games since then have been as enjoyable for me, I still had a lot of fun playing just about all of them (except for Kirby Super Star Ultra, which was a little short). Although this isn't the Kirby home console game announced back in the late days of the Gamecube, I am very pleased to see a new Kirby home console game coming. I just hope it won't be too short and simple.

  • I've wanted to try out some Mega Man games for awhile, but I missed the games on the GBA/Gamecube, and I currently can't download anything from the Wii Shop Channel, so this game presents a nice opportunity for me to try out some Mega Man games.

  • Ever since I got Super Smash Bros. Melee, I've wanted a similar game featuring Sega characters. While this isn't that game, it seems to be pretty darn close (Mario Kart with Sega characters). As I do generally enjoy Mario Kart, this game interests me as well. Hopefully it will turn out to be as good of a game as I want it to be.

  • I'm a pretty big Transformers fan, and Transformers: Cybertron Adventures (a.k.a. Transformers: War for Cybertron) seems to look like it may be a really good Transformers game. Hopefully the game will live up to (or surpass) my expectations.

[The way the Wii version of this turned out disappointed me.]
