I still think Patrick is completely insane for thinking 3D Land is the best 3D Mario game (you can't beat Galaxy or Galaxy 2, don't be crazy) but 3D World is looking completely bonkers and fun in a way I can really get behind.
Of course, this is all in the context of those three games being some of my absolute favorites ever. It's picking your favorite children.
If Mario games are your children what does that make sunshine?
Feels like it has been forever since I've heard about this game. Has Blow mentioned anything on his twitter or anything lately about the game, or future convention plans? I'd search for it myself, but a game called "the witness" would be pretty hard to Google with any sort of accuracy.
I've got the Ipad version, and it's fantastic. Haven't seen the Iphone version, but the gameplay doesn't really require you to see the entire battlefield at all times so my guess is that the reduced screen real estate wouldn't be too much of an issue.
I can almost hear Jonathan Blow face palming from here. Phil has been a real embarrassment on the indi game scene for so long, and if he really feels the need to cry about what the press says about him it's really time to go. Sure it's a shame that Fez is over, but the witness will be out soon and in time we will forget all about Fez. We will move on. Fish will continue to wallow in his delusional "battle" for all eternity. End of story.
The way Jeff talked about spiralling down a rabbit hole, and having to get pulled back... It sounded like he was contemplating shutting the entire site down. I mean it makes some since, Ryan cofounded GB, and Jeff seems convinced that he was a far bigger part in getting it off the ground. I don't know if I could handle it if they stopped doing the site, so glad they decided to continue on, but at the same time it really drives home how hard Jeff is taking this. Damn.
Waking up to bad news is always the worst. You're at your most vulnerable, and unable to properly cope with the gravity of sudden change. No matter what situation we were in when we heard the news it hit us all hard. I feel for you man, the GB community is a true family today. RIP Ryan.
In honor of the sad news let there be no watitng this week. Instead, let us look to the past, to remember the amazing times had on the greatest podcast of all time, and the man who made it all possible.
