You don't even need to really do it near them, you just have to smoke whatever they're shooting at. If you're playing as the attackers, it's a good idea to smoke the defenders anyway, to keep their defensive fire ineffective. This just has the added bonus of pissing off all the snipers on your team. Maybe they'll actually get off their asses and try to take some ground then. "

If I'm close enough, like within 15 feet or under, yeah ... I just close distance and use a knife. When I sat, sneak behind a guy, I mean from around the majority of the action on the flank, see him across the road (like 50 feet away), too far to run up and knife, because.... there may be a 2nd guy you don't see that'll spot you crossing the road and shoot you. But you're at medium distance and you got all the time in the world to aim and get a clean headshot. You do and the guy survives, turns and in a split second, sees you in the dense tree line and fires one shot back at you and kills you. That's the WTF moment that is my pet peeve, that I took my time and didn't kill him. That he just quickly whipped around and immediately knew where I was and one shotted me. Didn't even take 2 seconds to look and go "where did that come from"? Like, he telepathically knew where I was. That's the pet peeve. This rarely happens though. When it does, I chalk it up to me being fairly crappy with iron sights. Happens less now because I have red dot on most of my classes now. Some guns have iron sights that I can work with, but some ... I am horrible with. Just varies. "

" lone wolfs should not be confused with meat puppet.  The job of the meat puppet is to get filled with holes so the rest of the team can tri-angulate where the shots are comning from.  too many times i have focused on killing a meat puppet only to get some cranial ventilation from a sniper.  if you got pwned by an uber team and their lowest player is worse than your lowest player...  he was the meat puppet and by killing him, you gave your team away, congradulations."

yeah, I have tried in the hummer and I couldn't get it to work, there's nothing to aim with and it certainly didn't light up everyone on my screen. "
