I use it whenever possible, especially coupled with Caryll Runes that replenish health and bullets which become invaluable for dungeons. Having said that, parry/riposte is another a risk/reward mechanic in your toolkit. I've personally died many times attempting it where using dodge would've been the safer, albeit slower, route, but I still say the risk is worth it.

I still use the Vita daily (nightly?) before bed. I enjoy the Indie machine that it is, especially when Salt and Sanctuary was recently released for it and for free (thanks cross-buy!). If not that, I just bum around Youtube with that sweet OLED screen. Yeah, it's a shame the Vita never caught on, but I intend to keep mine until it breaks...I'll probably still keep it...

Played a nice chunk of Zero Mission. It's what I expected. It's exactly what I fucking expected. It SUCKS.

jk

It's awesome so far. Wonderful graphics too. I'm glad I'm not playing the original. How long are these games?

100% speed runs for Zero Mission are sub-hour; low % runs are obviously shorter. Casual runs are likely in the 3 hour + range. It also depends on what you're trying to do. 100% with no guides will take some time, not using the Chozo Statues for hints also adds time. Take your time with both ZM and Fusion and enjoy the pinnacle of the 2D games. Also, wear headphones (if possible). The music and sound effects, especially in Fusion, are amazing, which is lost with regular speakers.

I've only backed one project:

No Caption Provided

It was delayed about 4 months, but it was definitely worth it. After that, I figured I'd quit while I was ahead, even though the Mighty No. 9 and Bloodstained Kickstarters were very tempting.

The River City Random: Underground project is one Kickstarter I'm glad I avoided. Unless they received funding from another source, I don't see how they have any of the KS money at this point.

As frustrating as the Rangers loss was, losing 3 of 4 home games (2 by shutout) says to me they shouldn't be in the finals anyway. Gotta give credit to Bishop for turning it around again after a rough Game 6, and the Tampa Bay defense for locking things down when they needed to.

As I watched, it felt like the Rangers were always on the defensive and obviously didn't do anything with the few good looks they had. You'd think adjustments would've been made when it was clear Tampa Bay was guarding the blue line and the Rangers' forecheck was not happening, but what can you do?

Hopefully the Rangers FO will jettison some dead weight on the lines and get some younger guys out there.

Terraria is a lot of fun. It's more action-oriented and easier to build compared to Minecraft since its only 2D.

I was an Axe man for the majority of my first playthrough. I picked up the Blade of Mercy and initially didn't like it's short range and low damage. I invested more into Skill and got familiar with its move set and now it's been my primary through NG+/NG++ and Chalice Dungeons.

It doesn't pack the punch of Ludwig's, but it dishes out damage fast, and gives you great mobility options. The L2 attack + auto back jump is great for coercing enemies into their attack, which lets you easily follow up with the blade's dodge attack. Its flurry of attacks can stun-lock most enemies, and unlike most transformed weapons, you're never fully vulnerable while attacking; you can usually cancel and dodge.

I still have Ludwig's on hand for when I want to dish out the big hurt, but the Blade of Mercy is always equipped.

Typically what my friend and I do is:

1. Make sure our Network passwords are the same. Make it complicated enough to avoid potential duplicates (This is crucial).

2. My friend who wants to join the game will ring his small resonant bell.

3. I wait about 5 seconds, then I ring my beckoning bell.

Also, make sure both players haven't left the game running in rest mode for an extensive amount of time. The same glitch that makes the game easier also affects the functionality of co-op mode. At least in our case it did.

What would be nice is if Blood Vials/Quicksilver Bullets weren't part of your inventory, but were just refreshed to full every time you died/returned to the Hunter's Dream. They could still drop from enemies, but for all intents and purposes, there's no reason to farm.
